So, the title of the thread *may* be playing devils advocate slightly, but this is what is *allegedly* said by KM in an interview carried out in French, when translated in to English. My French speaking skills are broken at best, so was curious if anyone from Not606 can confirm if this is what is said? Personally, I'd be verrrrrrry surprised it it was said, and that blunt also. http://www.lecho.be/entreprises/spo..._anglais.9680454-2467.art?ckc=1&ts=1443693666
just read that. think it's taken a bit out of context. it reads as though she doesnt care about the past because she is trying to sort out now/future. obviously doing this quite badly at the moment. but, at least she looked nice in that skirt. didnt realise we got free teas at the valley. after football, tea is my next most favourite thing.
I didn't imagine she'd be that careless. The bit after that which took my attention was her admitting she wasn't ready for this job. I'm yet to be convinced she's still able to carry out that role. That comment should have been kept secret until she's been a success.
I have now read a translated version of the whole Katrien interview ... I would invite everyone on here to do the same. I am afraid that Meire comes across as a very petulant and arrogant madam....from the tiresome problem of having to deal with our elderly, complaining fan base !! To having to sack staff who did not have the skills for the job (back room low paid staff, not the managers she appointed....). Best of all "the Valley used to hold 90,000" - that's news to me? , and she personally deals with all the transfers despite admitting she is a very young woman with no experience in this business. Katrien Meire is a big , big factor in why this Club is in the Karzi.
Highlights of the Meire interview as follows- " the training of the young players is the main wealth of Belgian clubs, now you see why I fell in love with this Club"
I personally don't think she should be anywhere near a football decision. I have had the "pleasure" of working with her and the charlton board on a few matters.. As part of this I was fortunate enough to see her CV, she has NEVER held a job down longer than 2 years. So rest assured, her time is coming to an end. All skirt no substance. Under the heading "defining moments of my career" she mentioned meeting Reamsofverse and noted his wealth of knowledge on European football, even adding that he had once been to Belgium. .... ;-)
" the staff at Charlton was bloated, and many of them did not have the required skills. And a few days after the lifesaving sport (wtf?) I separated from ten of older ones. It was difficult but necessary" Isn't age discrimination illegal ?
I love this bit... " the problem is we are close to Central London. The good people prefer to work there"
Meire "eliminated free tea and coffee for fans on match days" ?? " I still always get criticism. They are indignant . Unfortunately it is important. This is where we are likely to achieve our better margins " ( tea and Joe Gomez....(
" I was not ready. I had no experience of managing a football club . I had never talked to a player's agent the first months, the pressure was very strong. I happened to cry This is comedy gold.
That was the most compelling admission in my eyes. That's something you might (I wouldn't) divulge had you been a rousing success. But she hasn't.
i have just discovered that they get free pies at the valley. this is why they are bloated. probably lost in translation in the article
I wonder what caused Katrien to cry the most - the sh1t signings - the falling attendances - or having Reams' sweaty hand round her waist?
Sick to death of this Belgian circus to be perfectly honest. Spending time with my family and friends doesn't piss me off as much as this bollocks (wife excluded). Don't worry though Katrien, I have only been going 32 years, which funnily enough is longer than you have been alive, you sexy little arrogant Bitch.
