    Nationalism is the root of fascism. Stir up nationalist sentiment and you're on the road to racism and intolerance. Make nationalism the central tenet of a ruling political party and you're well on the way to fascism.

    Any student of history could tell you that.

    The English hate the SNP because the face of Scottish Nationalism is a happy one whereas the face of English Nationalism is a bitter, shaven-headed racist ranting about Muslims.
