Based on the two solid performances in pre season, what would be the strongest line up youve seen so far

    Mine

    ---------------------------------------Rachubka

    ------Connolly------------Kisnorbo------------Lees------------------Parker

    ------ Snodgrass------------Brown----------Clayton------------Gradel

    -------------------------------Nunez
    ------------------------------------------McCormack

Would agree if you replaced Nunez with Howson. Based on performance though I would put Nunez in in place of Gradel.

You wouldn't have our club captain in the starting 11?

Jeez.......chill out guys,I put Nunez in Gradels position as he's impressed so far, which left one of Paynter,McCormack or Gradel up front,& I'd rather have Max with his pace than the other two.
In other words we're short of options up front with Becchio & Somma out.
Paynter up front on his own? No thanks.
Anyway its just a bit of fun,I didn't realise it was a test under exam conditions!!

    Ben you're cheating! Lol.
Obviously I would have put Becchio up front but I assumed we were selecting players who played in the friendlies in Scotland-& he's injured.

Ben......disqualified! You must re-sit the exam.

YEP says today we are in for Clingan & Eremenko, not sure where either would fit in other than replacing Gradel and Howson. Also looks like Clayton wont get his chance again. Although of late, the YEP has written more rubbish than Clivetime and Bigfatboab have on here!

Its too late for excuses Essex! you got an F for such a poor attempt ha ha

Clingan's a Kilkenny type, sits in midfield directing play. But unlike Killa he's not afraid to put a tackle in! He would definitely be a good shout. Eremenko seems to be a bit of a Taarabt type of player so, if Howson is a Steven Gerrard type then Eremenko is more similar to Sneijder. Bith would be great signings IMO, especially if Gradel goes.

Essex i would agree that howson's style of play is similar to gerrard, obviously not with the same quality. Who would you say his style is more like then?

I meant type of player, and was using well known players so people would know what I was getting at. Pretty much trying to say that, as with Gerrard and Sneijder, Howson and Eremenko are both players who play in similar positions but have different styles.

Not sure off the top of my head who I'd compare Howson to but it wouldn't be Gerrard. Stevie G at least gets a tackle in now & again, something that's lacking in Howson's game.

Its a bit like saying Paynter is a Drogba type of player:laugh:

    Rachubka

    Connolly, Kisnorbo, Lees, Parker

    Snodgrass, Howson, Brown, Gradel

    McCormack, Becchio

I'd still like to see Lichaj in for Connolly, another left back and a new keeper.

I'd say howson is like a paul Scholes or everton's tim cahill

For my team... doing some research into nunez and it seems hes a centre mid for olimpia & puebla - scoring 11 goals in 30 games

    I'd start with:

    --------------------Rachubka-------------------

    Connelly---------O'brien------Kisnorbo-----White

    --------------------Brown----------------------

    Snodgrass----------Nunez----------------Gradel

    -------------------Howson--------------------

    -------------------Becchio--------------------

Monster, that's exactly who I was going to liken Howson to,a poor mans Paul Scholes!
    He couldn't tackle either.

Ok, what about a team you wouldnt want to see play for Leeds United for any amount of money past(ish)/present players from any team?

    D James

G Neville, R Ferdinand, Collins, capaldi

    Kewell(****), P Neville, S Johnson, K Dyer

    Owen, bellamy

Ridsdale as chairman, Darren Ferguson as Manager and the biggest **** off fish tank!
