I have never assumed sexism as there is no evidence for that, but it is constructive dismissal if she is demoted from first team duty for such a minor incident. Of course, she may have belted Mourinho across the chops and kneed him in the groin....we can but dream.

I think most of the sexism was engineered by the press media going after a twisted story. Mourinho, for all his faults within that episode, constantly referred to his medical staff as a team, not as individuals.

I was walking through Palma last night on my way to watch the rugby in a bar just off the Paseo Maritimo when I saw a red and white striped shirt. I thought this guy was either and Atletico or Athletic supporter but then I noticed the VEHO logo. Unbelievable!! He and his mate were returning to the bus station so they could get the bus to their resort hotel at Calador after having had the "pleasure" of watching Real Mallorca lose to Huesca. That to my mind is great. I should have asked him if he uses this site to keep in touch.

 

Team of the week in Spain has to be Celta Vigo for their performance against Barcelona but also credit to Villareal who are the new leaders of La Liga. It is so refreshing to see the so-called "also-rans" beating Real and Barca.

 

Have Juve and Chelsea been attending the same seminar as both are making a hash of defending their titles?

Gary Lineker recently gave the best description of the Spanish League and why two or three dominate. He said that they all play exactly the same way in La Liga, except that the ones with the most money can afford the best players who can play it better. Well it's nice to see that trend is different this season, if only for a short while. But let's hope it lasts. The media may want us to love Goliath, but the general public have an unfortunate habit of preferring David.

Well done FA, you've successfully turned women's football into a pale imitation of men's football where it's a 2/3 horse race and the only thing that matters is how much money you have. Bravo.
