    On the basis of a 3 point win? Rather strange these rankings. I would have put the 3 Southern Hemisphere teams ahead of any of the Northern Hemisphere ones for a start ....................

    Yes - these days that try probably wouldn't have been allowed, as play would have been stopped for the high tackles and cards given ........ Does anyone (other than me) think back on the "old days" of "if you don't roll away you get a good kicking" and wonder if we've not gone too far to make the game "safer"?

    It's that burst of acceleration from Gareth Edwards that put the icing on that try.

    I'd love to see Edwards and Theo Walcott compete in a 60 yard dash (obviously Edwards would be a bit old now).

    No it wasn't. I saw an interview with him many years later and he admitted that, having been involved in the play upfield earlier, he was "walking back" (his words) when the play passed him going the other way. So he thought "Bugger it, I'd better run" and turned up at full tilt just at the right time! Lovely man and such a great player.

    Don't know if this has been mentioned, but regarding the use of video refs, to eliminate errors, that only works if the actual referee calls for it.
    I read, following the England v Wales game, that three of Wales' penalties should not have been given, and had the video ref been called for, they wouldn't have.
    So, where do you draw the line, with regard to using technology?
