Just read an article in the Echo. Yes he is still with us.
When I watched him play for Newcastle he always impressed and I was happy when he came to Anfield.

He's had a mixed time with us and it has been reported that an injury was a lot to do with his loss of form. Rodgers quite clearly wants him out and he was told to leave in the Summer along with Balo and Borini but he turned down a number of clubs and stayed.
This ended in a torrent of abuse from social media and the player publicly stating that the abuse was not warranted and that he wanted to be a Liverpool player and that the wages were not his main focus.

In this case I believe the man and feel that the abuse he got was undeserved. I don't think he's a great player but we'll worth a place in the squad if he wants to stay.

    Thoughts on a few things.

Players staying to pick up a wage?
    Abuse on social media?
Is Enrique good enough to stay?
    Where is MITO?

He started off well but tailed off massively. He's quite overrated IMO - he's extremely good at shielding the ball but every other aspect of his game is below average.

Loses concentration, poor tackler, poor positioning.

As much as I agree to some point I think that you are doing him a disservice. He's a good player but good and that's it. I think he was daft staying as he could be playing elsewhere but I genuinely think he'll fight for a place and when fit he's good to have as cover in a position where we are light.

He's a better defender than Moreno

I like Enrique, but as already mentioned, injuries played a big part in his level of performance. Plus he's Spanish - is it any coincidence our game's deteriorated the fewer Spaniards we have :bandit:

  7. This! Although I do think there is room for improvement, Enrique is the best option we've got imo (whilst Flanno is injured). They way he's been treated is shocking but, of course, we don't know what's happened in the background either.

Don't get me wrong I don't think he's great, but as a defender he's quite solid, unlike Moreno who's alright going forwards but a crap defender imo.

Put it this way, I hope I see Moreno's name on the teamsheet on Sunday up against Deloufeu.

  9. If Moreno plays, he'll be playing LWB so it will be Sakho dealing with Deloufeu (I'm sure you're going issue a similar stance at that too though)

So you reckon he'll start with 3 CB's then?

Ive noticed a bit of a trend - fans who like Enrique also like Skrtel and Flannagan.

The common thing between these players (besides the fact that they're ****), is that they don't make the calamitous, visible errors that say someone like Toure and Sakho make.

They make basic errors which are quite understated and often go unnoticed - things like backing off, poor positioning are quite hard to detect and measure, so they evade the brunt of criticism.

The best example I can think of was the West Ham game when Lovren made a huge howler but it was Skrtel who was the worst performer on that day. Yet everyone only remembers Lovren ...

    CODE FOR:

You plebs can only spot the obvious, whereas jarg Guillem Balague wannabes like me, see the finer points of the game. You donks only see stuff like complete **** ups that lead directly to goals being conceded, whereas I can appreciate the much less obvious mistakes that might lead to a costly throw in and such like.

    **** off will ye <laugh>

  14. Hope not but yes, we've played three CBs in the last three or four games

Oh right, didn't realise as I've not seen any of them. It made for a complete bore draw when you played that formation at Goodison last season, and we loaded on Sakho

If your manager had any sense, he'd put Lukaku on Skrtel, and let him bully him.

  17. Mirallas and Lukaku rpulled Can and Sakho wide if I remember rightly. Both pulled wide and allowed Naysmith (?) to exploit the space in the middle.

Yep and whilst they made Sakho look a clumsy oaf at times by hounding him when he received the ball, the plan never really worked, as we needed more pace.

This time round it'll likely be Deulofeu, Lukaku and Naismith with Barkley supporting

I think Skrtel would relish the physical battle tbh and I think that'd suit him rather than us.

I think you'll see Lukaku dropping off a touch and Skrtel won't know whether to stick or twist.

I'd be telling Deulofeu to attack the space in behind Moreno and take on Sakho at every opportunity. He'll have him on toast.
