and Chezzie doesn't look his assured, comfortable self. Pulis doesn't like small centre backs, so I am not sure why Pulis signed him.
Maybe somebody else signed him for Pulis? Or Pulis wanted him for right back but that didn't work out and now he's unsure what to do.
He probably did it on Chris Coleman's recommendation. After all, Coleman did say Chezzie would be wasted in the Championship.
Mates a season ticket holder at the Baggies. Thinks Chester has been garbage this season when hes played and has been a liability. Amazed they paid £8 million for him.
He certainly looked out of his depth after he came on in the second half. Contributed significantly to turning a 2-0 lead into a 3-2 loss. Don't think Pulis will be giving him much playing time for a while. Too bad...he's a damn good young player.
Saw this quote in the Guardian comments section which lends support to your mate's statement. "James Chester has been on the pitch for about 152 mins this season and we've conceded 6 goals. In the other 420 mins we haven't conceded a single goal. In his defence he's been up against Lukaku and Sterling."
I had a look on a West Brom forum a couple of weeks back and they were blaming Pulis for playing him ar right back, rather than blaming Chester himself, though that may well have changed by now.
Looks like West Brom need a bit more muscle and aggression in the middle of their defence. Only one man for the job then.
