After all that suspense they announce they have found water, even people on here knew there is water on Mars. Worse still it's salty so you can't drink it when you get there. How are the beaches by the way?
It's not just that there is probably flowing water on the surface during summer, it's the fact that it's quite near the equator where there should be little or no subsurface ice. It appears the water collects on the surface through a process called deliquescence. However, with less than 1% of Earth's atmosphere, the question is how could so much water vapour be in the Martian air and where does it come from?
In theory they (NASAoles) are looking at ways to change Mars into a planet that can support life as we know it. This will take hundreds of years (if at all) and in the meantime we will continue to destroy our own planet by cutting down every tree, polluting every waterway, contaminating the Earths atmosphere and offering the hand of friendship to each other whilst scheming to find a way to kill each other. What a wonderful world!
