It's a shame for Stephens, but I think once the games pile up in the Championship he will get his opportunity. In some respects it's good experience if he is to become 3rd or 4th choice centre back here in the next few seasons. As you have to learn to deal with being a squad player and then cope with the pressure of being in a top of the table team. Gallagher hasn't been finding the net, but it's game time at a very good level and even if he doesn't set the league alight it's still useful e.g. Harry Kane
Watched Sheff Utd on Saturday and I think they could have done with a bit of width and some energy in midfield. At least we know the culture and the football that Nigel plays will be the kind of football club we would want our players to go too. Guess it depends if Nigel wants any of them as i'm sure he is familiar with the more senior u21 players
It's Monday night and the u21s are in action vs Sunderland. Live on YouTube - KO 7pm The headline is that Caulker is starting tonight Starting Line-up Gazzaniga, Mugabi, Caulker, McCarthy, Debayo, Little, Gape, Sims, Hesketh, McQueen, Seager Sunderland feature the highly regarded Duncan Watmore
Armani Little, which is probably one of the best named footballers ever. Seems very highly regarded as was part of the first team pre-season tours
Oh dear, Caulker getting on the wrong side of his man at a corner for not the first time this season.
Saints not controlling the midfield and are crossing too early and from too deep...Watmore is causing al sorts of problems, Sunderland 2-0 now
First time i've seen Armani Little play and i'm pretty impressed. Technically very sound and his passing is solid. The other aspects of his game will come with experience and physical maturity.
It's better from Saints, more control and the full backs are pushing forward and overlapping closer to the byline for crossing.
Saints lose 2-0....Not quite sure how they didn't score in the second half. There was much better possesion in Sunderland's half and were more together at the back.
