True.. but Ings as already score a couple for us.. didn't it take Fabio and not so fabulous amount of time to get even 1?
However, in fairness to Fab.. he did have the likes of Suarez, Studge, Sterling ahead of him at the time... so game time limited!

  2. I actually have high hopes for Ings. He's got the right attitude, work ethic and he knows where the goal is, at just 23yrs of age he's got time on his side to become a decent player imo

Aye, he's an English Dirk.. and everyone needs a Dirk..
But, and it pains me to do so, I agree with Jimmy, he's a good 3rd option but we need someone just as good as Studge to play alongside him or instead of him when he's out injured, and he will be out injured...

As Gez said,'he's still quite young so there's room for development. However that requires him to be playing week in week out. He'll probably get that this season due to lack of options.

If the BRodge stays then I doubt Ings will get much game time once Benteke is fit.. we know the BRodge likes "his" players, so if/when fit, Benteke will play, even if means we don't get the best out of Studge with a more mobile partner, which Ings is playing along side him!

  6. No he won't, as soon as Benteke is fit again he'll be back in the first XI

Then he would be a fool because since Benteke has been injured, our attsck has looked far better, and they suit Coutinuo.

Borini scored on his home debut. It took him a long time to get his second, but he did have a broken foot and dislocated shoulder during that time.

At the moment he might be a good 3rd choice by the guy is 23.... Who's to say he can't actually turn into a regular 15 goal a season striker? What is he 2/3 years away from being in his prime.

Until il sturridge can he's never been massively prolific (game time was was I know) but he got to us at 24 I believe and just clicked. Nothing to suggest Ings can't improve into a prolific striker.

Borini was a willing runner, but I think Ings' attitude is better. He shows real exasperation with himself when something doesn't come off, and that determination to be better might just make all the difference.
I agree with Jimmy that he's unlikely to be the answer to our lead striker problem, but he could certainly provide solid back-up.

On 9 August, Borini scored his first goal for Liverpool during his first game at Anfield, in the second leg of a Europa League match against FC Gomel, in the 21st minute.

He returned to the team on 27 April 2013, coming off the bench in the 72nd minute to score his first Premier League goal and Liverpool's fifth in a 6–0 away win against Newcastle United.[29] In his first season with Liverpool, he played 20 games, scoring twice.

If Ings can get the best out of Sturridge he is instantly very valuable.

  16. I'd say atm he is a good first choice striker since he's doing the business on the pitch more than Benteke and Origi.

Got to say, on what I've seen so far Ings is three times the player that Borini is. In fact, I'm more impressed with Ings than Firminho, though I'm praying (more in hope than expectation) that Firminho just needs time to adjust to the Prem. We'll see.

Ings is just what we need right now. Someone who has a hunger when he's on the pitch and works hard without trying to showboat. He's like the attacking version of Flanno and I don't mean that in a bad way. I would start both of them right now if fit. Mix those kind of players with Coutinho and Sturridge types and you have a really balanced team. Runners and workers and flair and skill.

Just goes to show that you don't need to buy superstars to improve the team, just the right player. Someone should tell that to the committee...
