No. Just can't see it happening. Why would a CL quality player who's playing for one of the best clubs in the world(Europe) want to leave and come to play for a mid-table/top-half sidel ike us?

Wages would be sky high & Fat Ash wouldn't part with that amount of money on one single individual. If this happened though.. OMG! I'll stop saying the word ''Vargas'' FOR EVER

£26m and Gutierrez is too much imo. Would prefer something along the lines of £15-20m and Enrique, weren't they meant to be interested in him?

 

Really good player inside the 6 yard box. Doesn't contribute much to the build up play though.

 

Funny how in one breath people bitch and moan saying how Ashley should spend his millions, then turn around and complain about the price he might pay for players. You can't have it both ways

 

Gomez isnt worth 26m because of his goal record? Yet sturridge is worth 20m for half a decent season? Hmmm. Last season gomez was one of the best strikers in europe and he is being courted by all the big teams hes one of the hottest properties in world football! I would love to have him here but hed be on about 100k a week and deserves to be playing in europe there is no way on earth wed get him. Sturridge is on about 75k-90k a week at chelsea and left man city over a wage dispute and you want to spend 20m on him after half a decent season? One question are you ****ing mad?!

 

We have Barton, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Gutierrez who are more than capable of prodiving, a natural born poacher would be a great addition.

I agree, but for £26m there is better value out there in the market. You could guarantee 15-20 goals by having Gomez in the team OR 20-25 goals & assists from another similarly priced striker.

I read that as 26 million total value. Meaning jonas valued at say 8 to 10 and 16 to 18 mil in cash...........what am I on anyway, there is no way that this is even remotely true.

 

If that was the case then i would take it but lets face it it's not going to happen

 

Only 15-20? I think that might be a bit of an underestimation based on his past 6 seasons (aside from his first at Bayern)

How many players who aren't world class have actually managed over 20 goals a season in the premier league though in recent seasons though (since 2004) ? Darren Bent and Andy Johnson is the only one I can think of in that time period and most of their goals were penalties.

 

I'll rep you when I'm out of jail, you're spot on about him. Agree it's not happening but a proven goalscorer at every level would be worth every penny. We'd probably finish seventh with him banging in the goals. Plus all the shirt sales would offset some wages. Dream signing, if only dreams came true.
