    I was being sarcastic! We were told it was football on another level and to be fair they were winning stuff in Europe but it soon became obvious that it was **** to watch!

    Was the OP just about LFC in the 90's? I'm confused because most of the replies are generalising the 90's and not about Liverpool.

    If it's just about Liverpool, saint pretty much nailed it. We played with the shadow of the 80's events hanging over us, it's not an excuse, it's reality. We had great players, Rush on his second stint still banging them in, Owen, Saunders, Fowler too but we just never got it all together to make a decent challenge and only won 2 trophies which as fans we weren't used to following on from the hugely successful 70's and 80's.

    A lot of the Manc stuff was overated ****e imo

    <whistle>

    Drugs arrived by the boat load. Nigthclubs went from being the preserve of the pissed up bloke trying to find some gullible wench who would be a willing receiver for his gentlemans sausage......to - massive rooms full of sweaty stoned scalls all bouncing on the spot and waving in adulation at some geek who was playing records ffs <doh>

    Weird transition that was.

    It's warped in a general 90's theme.

    Agreed but the first Stone Roses and Oasis albums were iconic. Shame it went downhill after that.

    Edit, just checked and the Stone Roses album was 1989! :emoticon-0104-surpr

    It was but they had hits going into the early 90's

    1995 also saw Pulp Different Class released superb album and better than anything Oasis put out.

    The Seattle Sound was great.

    Ever seen that film Singles? It's not a very good film but I love it purely because of the time and context!

    I never liked Pulp. I think Jarvis Cocker is an annoying tool with an annoying voice.

    Remember Suede? Uninteresting fact of the day...band member Mat Osman is the brother of Richard Osman, the quiz master on Pointless.
