I don't mind that, if there is no option on and we can then progress with possession going forward again.

TSS, then your response to Lff doesn't really fall into context for me. Your point is fine, but not quoting back to Lff. Lff says we didn't change anything by changing personnel and then you just re-iterated that with a comment and then a bit about Graziano. It wasn't about liking him or not, but more about looking to see what else (style) will work and 3-0 is the perfect time to try that. Hence, it looked like you missed his point.

Strewth it is hard to please some of you at times!!
We played generally well against Utd but lost because we made silly mistakes.
We didn't play particularly well against Swansea, but won. Just try and think of the times we have said the same thing over the years. The players are going to have their glory days and their not so good as well as their bad days.
Why the continued knocking of Pelle.......He did his Job and is still the clubs leading scorer!!
I was pleased to see Corky, but man he is not playing the same kind of game he used to have with us. Although even with us he never actually stood out as such, but boy did you miss him when he wasn't playing. Probably as Swansea did at a guess after they took him off.
In regards to why he left, his agent/parent, always felt it was the wrong move for him to come to Saints, even going back to his first loan spell with us. When he eventually joined us, their was a rift between the two for a good while afterwards. When he didn't seem to command the starts that he thought he would get as we moved up the leagues his agent then started to look round for him. A Swansea move came as a bit of a surprise but he felt would get more game time, therefore a better chance of one of the bigger clubs coming in for him. When is his agent going to realise that that isn't going to happen unless he gets the unlikely call into the international team? Which is unlikely to happen in my view, the way he played Saturday at least. Just my opinion for what its worth.........

I don't see anyone 'continually knocking Pelle'. Everyone, without exception, said he was excellent against Swansea, and a monster for the first half against United. That sounds very much like praise to me.

By the way bought my ticket for the Leicester game, I'm assuming you are in the same seats you were last season?

Well that is my point exactly. He relies on Pelle (even when it isn't working so well!) so when the game is won, why not try out something different? There will come a time when Pelle won't be playing for some reason and we need to be prepared for it.

All Koeman does at the moment is change Tadic for Rodriguez or Mane for Long, still playing in the same manner with Pelle as the spearhead. I would just like to see 15 minutes of something completely different.

I'm glad Ronald is getting a bit shirty. He was patient at the beginning (at least in public) because of bedding in new players, but he is right to say that we have set high standards after recent seasons and dropping off now isn't acceptable. It means he thinks there is more there to give....rather than knowing that every player is giving his best already and we'll have to lump it. Never hurts to let the players know you have a tough side and best to do it after a win rather than after a loss when they may need buoying up.

Not the right words on my part ..........there was a a few that were complaining about him trying to use his flicks and them not coming off as well as passes going astray etc. That's his game though, if they came off every one would be calling him brilliant. One out of twenty flicks might come off and just might lead to the winning goal!!

Cedric for me - didn't put a foot wrong and played excellently. Then VVD - looking better and better. Then Graziano and JWP ....... Very happy all in all.

Did anyone see Ronald going nuts at Mane every time he stopped going forward and played the ball sideways or backwards? It was interesting - clearly he thinks (as I do) that Sadio's at his best running at defenders and scaring the whatsit out of them ........... :emoticon-0100-smile

In fairness, part of the reason he was *so* good against Swansea is because he kept it simple. There was only one flick you could class as "a little too ambitious"! He really reminded me of Rickie the way he linked play and held the ball up on Saturday.

The problem with flicks is that when they don't come off you effectively give away possession and if your team is breaking out of defence to support a sudden attack, positional issues arise and frequent tracking back demotivates and fatigues players. Like many things in life; too much of one thing is not good for you:emoticon-0100-smile

By all means he should continue with the flicks but sometimes it's better to make the simple pass to retain possession and give your defence and midfield a chance to gather themselves.

Beddy - lost your glasses? No-one is knocking Pelle. Most had him as best two players on the pitch. Lff asked if we should have taken him off for the last 15-20 to see how we played in a different style, but he certainly wasn't knocking him.

Not on this game there wasn't Beddy. One person mentioned one flick and then said he had no other option. I agreed and said that was ok to do that with no other option. Sometimes people read the word "Pelle" and assume he's being knocked.

EVERYONE THINKS HE WAS GREAT ON SATURDAY
