Bilic has set you up to be hard to break down and play on the counter. That works well when your opponents open up and come at you, but you struggle when they're happy for you to have the ball and have to break them down. It's worked very well against good sides so far, but he might need to have a different plan for teams that are more defensive.
We've scored 4 goals in our last two home games so that's clearly bollocks. A defensive error and a sloppy pass from Noble is why we didn't win yesterday.
PNP is right, as I pointed out too. It's obvious to anyone watching ( except a blinkered Spammer, of course).
Wow NSIS can't even ignore me when I'm talking to someone else! Against smaller sides, spuds have scored 5 goals in 5 games and West Ham have scored 9 in 5. Apart from that, he is right I suppose.
PNP is almost right in what he is saying i'll give him that. We do need to address how we are going to play at HOME because it's a bad return so far this season 4/12 opposed to 9/9 away.
Na. We played well yesterday. Apart from a couple of defensive **** ups we'd have won easily. Nothing wrong with the tactics. We created lots of chances and looked good. We had a couple of dodgy home performances early in the season but since then we've taken 4/6 points which is fine. Keep doing what you're doing Super Slav. No complaints from me.
Who are the five smaller sides we've played? Stoke, Leicester, Sunderland, Palace and... Everton? You're scoring enough goals in most of your games, but when you open up in order to do so against Norwich, Bournemouth and Leicester you've conceded. By staying compact, working hard and hitting on the counter you make things very hard for the more attacking sides. Arsenal couldn't break you down and City struggled, despite dominating possession. Bournemouth scored four. The same thing applies to your disciplinary record. Everyone working together and keeping it tight helps to maintain cohesion. When you open up and everything's a bit more ragged, then people take more risks and make silly decisions.
So if you play more attacking you leave yourself more exposed at the back? **** me that's ground breaking stuff PNP. 3rd in the table and exciting games with goals flying in at both ends. Unpredictable, at times magnificent and at times awful. That, my friends, is the West Ham Way. Keep it coming Slav.
So at first I was wrong and then I was so clearly right that it didn't need saying, without actually changing my tune?
WHU have played four games at home. Won One, drawn one, and lost two. They have played three games away. Won all three, scoring seven and conceding only one. I think those figures speak for themselves. To those with the wit to listen, that is.
You really are an angry little man, aren't you? You're not Ray Winstone. You're not even Danny Dyer. Get over yourself.
What a fantastic story. No other team can boast such a unique song so closely related to their history and tradition. We're not like other teams who steal songs off other clubs and change the lyrics (cringe). Another reason why we're the coolest team around. COYI
I like this thread, with all the Spanners giving it large. It's going to make all the more hilarious when it goes tits up, and they all shuffle back to their own pit of a board to wallow in their self-pity and dig up last season's "is the dream over" thread.
Stop trying to turn this thread into something it's not HIAG. No one is giving it large. I'm merely pointing out how cool West Ham are. Nothing to do with form. I could just as easily have written the thread when we were in the championship. I've ready said that we won't finish top 4 or top 6. We leave embarrassing delusion to fans of certain other clubs. Win lose or draw, there is no better club to support than WHUFC. COYI.
That's very true. I look ridiculous in my flat cap and mockney accent at any other ground but feel at home at The Boleyn.
Stop spoiling my thread with your tumble weed retorts please Watford. I've heard funnier material from Russell Howard.
Well if it's a serious discussion, which it isn't, then Palace are the coolest Prem club at the moment which is a bit of a sad indictment on the rest.
