They take their time in games and can appear a bit boring, but they win games in which they are not playing well.

They were 2nd best vs Southampton in every aspect except finishing.

I don't care what anyone says, scoring in games in which you are second best is the sign of title winners.

I think Man Utd are definitely in the title race.

If Chelsea and Citeh were on their game Man Utd wouldn't be a top 2 bet.
With Chelsea and Now Citeh stuttering the bar is lowered.

I did from the start of the season. They'll be up there. Not sure if they'll win it, but I suspect they will continue to improve as the season goes on.

League is wide open. There are a number of contenders as a result. Man U are one of them. At some stage the league will sort itself out, and a couple will break away.

    Next 3 games...

    V Arsenal (A)
    V Everton (A)
    V Man City (H)

These will decide if they are title contenders.

Man Utd haven't a chance in hell at winning this league. Rooney wouldn't get a game for half the teams in this division, but Utd are left reliant on the useless pudgy bastard. Does anybody look at their squad and think their team won't cope? Seriously?

Man City have spunked a lot of money up the wall on players who aren't better than what they had (De Bruyne and Sterling), Chelsea got complacent about last season when all others fannied about while they scraped wins, and Arsenal... Well Wenger should be sacked unquestionably. They should be ****ing walking away with the title this year, but once again Arsene ****ing miserableface has failed to buy the DM and striker he's needed for 3 seasons. Honestly, we moan about left backs and centre backs, but Arsenal fans must be suicidal thinking about the areas they need.

Meanwhile, West Ham, Palace etc have built decent little squads. If they could concentrate against smaller sides, they'd have more chance of the title than Man Utd, whose red shirt and the spectre of Ferguson remains the only threat.

Is this that comedy thing you do?

Did Man United dry bum you at one point in your life?

Still think Mignolet is better than De Gea? <ok>

Mignolet has proven himself a shotstopper and nothing else, which is disappointing. Perhaps Begovic will go the same way, but De Gea has excelled in fairness. Got an arrogance about him now, and almost left the sinking ship. As it is, he'll be worth 10 points and probs keep United around 4th/5th. Honestly though, this season will be a wake-up call for Yoonited fans, Liverpool fans and Chelsea fans also.

Reckon Man U will largely depend on martial staying fit and in form or them signing another striker in jan

I'd just prefer you both learned how to quote the previous reply and didn't continue on with the trend of misquoting once it has started. If people are going to insult each other I like to be able to follow it. Feels like a waste of popcorn otherwise.

I think they badly miss Kompany too. If Otamendi gets time I'm sure he'll be good for them. Demichelis looks past his best. Mangala looks more settled this year. But Kompany is the leader, the organiser.

To answer the question posed in the thread, it's because it is not very cool to say anything good about them, because they were very good for nigh between 1992/3 and 2013, and still remain good. I would love a team to emerge from the undergrowth this year and smash the top 4 to smithereens and as that team won't be my lot, then I hope it is Everton!!
