I have the feeling the people chatting on football forums about the phases of the moon may be not getting enough!
Here you go Fats, I'm sure this can be adjusted - http://staging.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/uk/brighter
I haven't looked it up, but these astral/lunar timings tend to be right in the middle of the event, so it'll almost certainly start a long time before 3am. Being closer, the Moon will be in the Earth's shadow longer than average, so the beginning will be sooner [if you understand me]. I will look it up and if I find I'm hugely wrong I'll come back and say.
If I get up in the night to go to the bathroom when I get back to the bedroom the vey lovely Mrs Godders is usually sat up in bed swinging those bloody fluffy handcuffs and smiling leeringly. I have resigned myself to waking up exhausted for years except now I have to be careful because the Viagra takes such a long time to wear off. If the grandchildren are staying I usually have to stay in bed till the bloody thing goes down while they think I am just a lazy old blighter.
**** it, I'm going to set an alarm for 3am and have a look at the eclipse. It's not very often you get the chance to see it.
Went to bed early, knowing that I always wake up a couple of times in the night. Slept through. Bollocks
Set my alarm so I got up for it. It was cool but don't kick yourself you missed that - you didn't miss that much.
I was more annoyed that I missed the opportunity to 'accidentally' wake the wife and well.... you know ... "since we're awake darling...."
And I didn't understand what it was all about - so I'm planning on googling "LENR" (I thought TSS wrote "LNER" originally, so I figured he was saying something about steam trains ) and will read it with interest, especially seeing as we're all still here after last night's "Blood Moon" which was supposed to be the end of everything ................
Was up at 3 to see it - great sight and brilliant night sky. Sat outside for an hour with tea (and girlfriend, plus very confused dog) watching it. Be a quiet day today though, I suspect ......... <yawn> .......
Yes, the cats here at Green Towers were also rather confused by my sitting on the front door step with hot chocolate in the wee hours. As cats do though they interpreted it as an extra feeding opportunity.
Was up all night myself. The sky was so clear that I tried taking a few improvised photos with the phone, to some success. In the end though I dug out my old Pentax ME Super camera and stuck a zoom on it. Then set it up, went to take a photo and forgot that it required film. Oops..! But I still carry some rolls in the fridge, so I got a 400ASA out of there and snapped away. Must replace the light meter battery in the camera if I'm going to use up the film, but apart from that it worked like a treat. Took me forever to remember how to put film in the little thing.
I have just put extended legs on my desk. I now stand up in my office... I'll be knackered by the end of the week Always get sore back when sitting, despite changing pc height, chair supports, etc, etc... so trying this.
