I agree wholly Miami ... but Gangsta won't (or can't) ... he has set his stall out and will stick to it ... no surprise that he brought up conceding 5 and 3 goal margins and that we didn't do that last season ... never happened under Nigel now did it?

He cannot entertain the idea that we might now be a far better side playing far better football ... nor can he look for anything positive from anything that might be attributed to Claudio Ranieri .....

In contrast I really enjoyed the game (despite the result) and I love the accolades that we are beginning to reap from both press and pundits ...

Now I never thought that I'd have anything positive to say about anything written in The Sun ... but their Sunday coverage of the game resonated fully for me ... to quote:

"And Leicester made a wonderful contribution too. They have been a breath of fresh air this season with their lung busting up'-n-at-'em style"

"It was a pulsating, thrilling, end-to-end match, full of all that is marvellous about the Beautiful Game"

"Claudio Ranieri's side played well, especially in the first half in which they took the lead and hit the woodwork twice"

For me we have moved onwards and forwards with Ranieri's appointment and as you have said ...we are indeed "doing great".

A breath of fresh air indeed. Good way to describe it.
As I said previously, some need to cast their minds back to the days of Craig Levein for example ( I shudder at the thought) ....we are extremely lucky to have the owners we do and a manager the quality of Ranieri.
Next Saturday can't come soon enough for me.

The dream of winning the league? Yes, probably...

The dream of a comfortable mid-table finish with no threat of relegation is very much alive though!

I just feel we have the players, as seen last season, to be more resolute than we currently are. We have what's needed, the manager just can't see it. It's not just this game that's worried me, believe me. We seem incapable of getting a clean sheet against anyone - if Mahrez/Vardy go off the boil, we could be real trouble.

As a non-supporter friend of mine said last night, a result like that has been coming. I never felt that last season.

Can you please explain to me what the manager can't see? For the majority of last season we struggled to draw or win matches because Pearson pretty much kept with the same system/players that didn't suit our strength, counter attacking. Defensively we are no worse than last season and offensively we are better. Yesterday we came up against a club that has finished in the top four for ? number of seasons and who were absolutely on top of their game and playing devastating attacking football. I don't think we kept many clean sheets last season and are unlikely to this one either. Be interesting to see if Fuchs, Benaloune and even perhaps Schwarzer can make a difference? I think you will see Ranieri addressing problems, formations, tactics, personnel and substitutions, a lot quicker than his predecessor.

It's personal because it was aimed at me and my ability to evaluate impartially rather than my comments, so yes, it was personal. Did it bother me? Not one bit, so no, I'm not sensitive.

As I'm sure you are aware, I'm not suggesting you are neutral, I'm suggesting that you have the same agenda you've always had. You are obviously going to defend Ranieri no matter what his failings. I'm not blaming Ranieri's tactics because of one hiccup, but that he didn't notice this hiccup was inevitable with the team he's been picking.

Most of the "neutrals" you've mentioned are Arsenal fans - very easy to be humble in victory. The others - well, as I've already said, I'm sure it was very entertaining to viewers who like to see a lot of goals - most of which went into our net.

Over the season as a whole we probably aren't worse off (than last season) but we did really improve at the end of last season with clean sheets against the likes of Swansea, Southhampton and Newcastle at home and Burnley/Hull away. I'm a big fan of the attacking flair and the tactics and substitutions but would just like to see us have a solid 2-0 win like some of those in the run in. I feel it's probably one of those that it's getting the first one out the way and then more will follow. I just hope they aren't putting too much pressure on themselves to do so

    De Laet is defensive liability
Huth is nowhere as effective as part of a two as a three
Morgan is better when give some freedom to roam and dispossess, which he did late on last season.
Schlupp simply doesn't know how to hold a line when playing the offside trap and was totally responsible for the second goal
Both Benalouane and Fuchs showed in the League Cup match that we have quality players that aren't making it into a struggling defence

We are definitely worse defensively. Last season we didn't have the quality options to make the changes and were less experienced as a unit at this level. The signing of Huth and moving Albrighton to fullback, a position I didn't even know he could play, were inspired, and led to us surviving. This season, we have the options to be so much more resolute, but we've reverted always back to the back four that struggled last season, and guess what? It's struggling again. It's easy to say Arsenal can do that to anyone, which is true, but if change isn't made it will happen again - and next time, it'll be less impressive opposition.

I don't think Southampton would have scored against us last season if we'd played all weekend.

But the manager is seeing plenty of other things, taking us to 6th in the league.
Not too shoddy even by your high standards Gangsta surely?
You know what I never saw coming for the vast majority of last season...... A BLOODY WIN !!! Lmao.

I am a Ranieri fan and am loving the attacking play but I do wonder what would happen if he did what Gangsta says and tries the 3 at the back and wing backs. I thought Albrighton and Schlupp excelled and it would enable us to play Fuchs who I think has a lot to offer. In my opinion it'd make us more solid at the back but I don't know how it would effect is going forward

Yet, substituting Bournemouth for Burnley, we are only one point better off in the same fixture from last season.

If we finish 6th I'll be the first to step up and hail Ranieri as the greatest manager of all time. But I can guarantee we won't. We'll be luck to finish 16th if we keep defending as we are.

This is the trouble with some football fans. They were blind to the good football we played last season because of our league position for much of it, and are blind to our failings this season for the same reason. Both our lowly position last season and our lofty position this season were/are temporary.

Firstly no one expects us to finish 6th... If so they are deluded.
I wonder be thrilled to finish around 10th.
I also would like to see the reintroduction of 3 at the back with wing backs. It worked well for us.
I can imagine the meltdown in here from some once we find are true level of mid table. God help us lmao

Thankfully we have you to stand on your soapbox and tell us to stop enjoying ourselves and prepare for **** to hit the fan right <doh>

The only person that seems to be blind is you - what about the good football we have been playing under CR? You seem to be only been looking at the goals against stats and see no positives at all.

No one here is claiming that nothing is wrong - read what people are writing and they are all lamenting the fact our defense is crap but unlike you are giving praise to the way that we are playing and have hope that we can improve.

Also whats wrong with 16th? I'd be fine with that as we would have avoided relegation and fulfilled our goal for the season - as long as we don't spend over half of the season bottom or in the relegation zone, we have improved over last year which is what we want - or at least the rest of us, what do you consider our goals to be?

I'm not telling anyone to stop enjoying themselves! I'm just expressing my opinion, just as others did last season.

Yes, we are playing some good attacking football, as we did last season. Unfortunately, we're worse at the back.

I've said plenty of positives about the way we've been playing this season which, attacking-wise, is a continuation of the end of last season. I am also aware that I'm not alone in my view on our defensive failings.

Because we're better than a 16th place team. That's already been proven last season, and we're stronger and more experienced than then. And I'd rather spend most of the season in the bottom three and survive than most of the season outside the bottom three and go down, which is my fear.

...did your non supporter friend see a win coming last season during the awful run that preceded the miracle escape? ... because Pearson didn't seem to have clue about changing things to get one for a very long time :)

Well no, but I think if we'd put in a similar performance to the one we gave last season in the 1-1 home draw then we'd still have been thumped.

We didn't make Arsenal look good. They just were good.
