A bit confusing seeing Chamakh in an Arsenal top, but also a relief that he's no longer our CF. Giroud we love you...
You'd risk resting coq? Isn't there an international break for 2 weeks after the United game? So he probably doesn't need a rest. But I agree that this is the best game to rest him than any other
Agree must play Coquelin over Arteta every time if he is fit. Arteta is too slow & picks up cards every match at the moment.
Hopefully. Hope Ramsey can open his accounts soon. He looks a bit unconfident/hesitant in attacking (shooting) positions nowadays and a goal will do him a world of good, especially going into United.
Coquelin, Arteta and Flamini all unlikely so a return to CM for Ramsay could be on the cards? Him and Cazorla would have to put in a disciplined performance and share the tracking back. Sanchez, Ozil, Oxlade AND Walcott all on at same time? Three outlets of pace for Ozil to find?
That would be a huge amount of pace for Santi and Ozil to find, and with Theo, Sanchez and Oxo all liking to switch between the flank and the centre, then the defence could be really stretched (unless they sit with 2 banks of 4 on their 18 yard box and don't move)
Our midfielders really need to start chipping in goals. Even teams with world class forwards can't do it alone, Ramsey, Cazorla and Ozil have to chip in a few this season.
Arteta was reputedly clocked as our quickest player against Leicester... so....yeah. I'll wait for you all to recover from your fainting spells... He's injured now though (no doubt due to being so damn fast!), as is Flamini so presuming he can move I imagine Coquelin will start. Theodore will no doubt have to start again due to OG's red card. I'd not object to seeing Gibbs start over Monreal too. Not because Nacho hasn't been great but because I thought Gibbs had a very solid game against the Spuds and it's good to rotate when possible/sensible. Hopefully we don't full scale rotate like in the Carling Cup though.
Agree about Gibbs he played well against spurs and it'll be good to make sure he doesn't get rusty in case anything happens to Monreal. Be interesting to have both Oxo and Theo playing, if that's what happens. Didn't see the Leicester game but the only thing I can think of if Arteta was our fastest player is if everyone else was standing still!
Arsenal XI: Ospina, Bellerin, Koscielny, Gabriel, Gibbs, Cazorla, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Alexis, Walcott. Olympiakos XI: JimEnez, Elabdellaoui, da Costa, Siovas, Masuaku, DomĂnguez, Cambiasso, Kasami, Sebá, Ideye, Pardo Very fast side - feel sorry for their left back having to face Oxo and Bellerin! Not to mention Walcott or Sanchez may run down that channel occasionally...
I don't know - Gibbs has been showing a lot more form and looks very good defensively these days, Bellerin and Kos are very good defensively, and Gab is good. We've got Coq and Santi in front - probably our best CM pairing, which offers the most protection, and Oxo and Sanchez will work hard getting back on the flanks
