I would say we are a long way from being 'defensively sound' we look a shambles at the back.

Davies just looked nervous after his early yellow... Fair enough.
    Robertson was poor.

Blackburn Rovers were a neat and tidy team that usually found their own player when they passed it. They didn't cause us many problems in the final third but Rhodes only needed one chance which he took well when it arrived. They worked hard and pressed us all match. Their pressing when we played tippy tappy football resulted in the corner from which they scored. I wouldn't have said we were a miles better team then them, either on the pitch or on paper.

We played the same type of football we have done for the past three seasons. Get the ball, look to get down the wings and hope for the best in the box. If we score a goal rely on our midfield and defence to shut the opposition out.

We'll win more than we lose and we'll finish in the top half of the table. Whether it will be enough to go up is an open question.

I said before the game I wanted us to go out and attack the opposition and play with some tempo. That was the opposite. We seem to give the opposition more respect than they give us. Our squad is very talented, we have some great players for this level but they aren't shining. Bruce seems to have no idea what his best team is, what his best formation is. We change our team and system weekly and we have no consistency. Next week lets not worry about what Forest can do to us, and focus on what we can do to them.

It's like we don't learn from our mistakes, last year how many times did we sit back when we where ahead and then concede a late goal. Why did Bruce think it would be any different today?

We are still fourth, I reckon if we carry on playing like this we will struggle to finish in the play offs.

If the ref had not been weak as piss, they would have had a penalty and Davies would have been sent off, before we had the chance to go up the other end and score.

Bruce addressed that on the radio by saying normally it would be a centre half, but Blackburn have got two big centre halves that always go up for corners, so Bruce felt they needed to be marked by our centre halves thus leaving Dave to pick up Rhodes, which he didn't.

It should have been Elmo or Meyler or Jake. Definitely Meyler though physical with the diving cheating ****er. Kept deliberatley jumping into Davies and Dawson with no intention of playing the ball and didnt get pulled up once.
Never disliked him before thought he was an absolute **** today as were the resto f their team. Diving ****ers to a man.

Diame didn't have a good game , Robertson makes too many mistakes for a defender , Davies was back to last seasons version

How is Jordan Rhodes still at Blackburn ? Look at his goal scoring record

Remarkably for such a prolific striker, that's the first goal Rhodes has ever scored against City.

It was very ****, but as soon as we brought off arguably our best player and put on captain inconsistent, it was obvious was what going to happen (obviously not Meylers fault for the goal, not what I meant). If he was going to bring another player on, he should've either put Maguire on for the extra height or put Aluko in and played 4-4-1-1. If you take a striker off and try to shut up shop, you invite the opposition onto you. If that opposition contains Jordan Rhodes, why on Earth would you choose to let them attack us?

It was a complete arse of a decision from Bruce, we were supposed to be the home team and we did our very best to be as **** as possible today. The only shining light to come from today was the decent looking partnership of Abel and Akpom, both seemed to click and there were lots of fluid flicks and passing between them.

One of the callers after the game said we have no right to turn up and beat teams and he's got a point, however we now have two tough away games at Forest and the Wendies and if we play like that, I'd be very surprised if we managed more than two points.

I assume Meyler didn't do it as he didn't start the match and Moses had probably picked up for the previous 90 minutes at corners without issue. I would of gone with Elmo, however, he always seems to have that role near the front post. Shocking defending mind you.

Rhodes had about three fouls given against him in the first half for backing in to defenders, I thought the ref was pretty good today.

I thought we should have had a penalty in the second half. There was a deliberate handball in the second half!
