    A wee Mindyfail there laddy.

The Royal Marines are part of the Navy. They are infantry and as such are indeed soldiers. Elite Soldiers its true but soldiers none the less.

    You are welcome

The RAF Regiment are part of the RAF but like the Royal Marines they are primarily Infantry Soldiers.

That was our base, we occasionally manned the Aughnacloy PVCP but 60% of our time we did foot patrols in the countryside, "Farmer's Daughters" as they were called, and about another 25% we did vehicle patrols.

We also did the odd Heli patrol and QVCPs. A Big area to cover, definitely Bandit country.

Arguably the toughest basic training in the world. 40 weeks basic training is longer than any other military unit in the world. It's so easy that Prince Edward jacked it after about 10.
