I think we've played well. They look like they could score at any minute, but our play is of a high standard too
We need to sort out the cover for our fullbacks and our final ball in behind. That's what's cost us badly in that half. Demichelis in the book for moaning, somewhat justifiably. He should've already been booked for his foul on Alli late in the half, though.
Ours was about 5 yards offside though, really incompetent. Not complaining mind. Hope that lino is better in the second half!
Parity restored, couple of cards for dissent for the City players at the end of the half there which is good to see. Neither goal should really have happened by the letter of the law, and I think on balance we deserve to be on terms. City have some fantastic players so its no surprise we're under the cosh a bit, but we're giving a good account of ourselves going forwards and Dier, Alli and the CBs are having strong defensive games too. Need to do better when they come in from the flanks though. Honestly, we could win this. Its all set for Kane to get off the mark, he's had a couple of tries already. We're bang in this game.
Well deserved equaliser, although it shouldn't have stood either. First one with De Bruyne was close but Walker was well off for the second. Good to see us getting a decision go for us for a change Great strike by Dier though and a really good performance overall. We do look a bit suspect defending down the flanks and Walker in particular needs to stay out wider with Sterling, the centre backs are doing a very good job on Aguero so he's not helping by pushing in narrow. Typical from Lamela again, lots of bright moments but without the end product so far. We need to keep getting at their centre backs as they look very shaky and Demichelis is on a booking now and I thought Otamendi was lucky to get away with his challenge on Alli too. We're well in this match COYS!
Quite impressed with some of the play in that first half. Looking tidier in moments in the final third. Not a bad game at all. We could actually be winning this.
That was pretty OK actually. I think we'll get edged out by superior cutting edge but positive signs all over really
BT managed to spend the whole half-time analysis talking about the decisions, utterly pointless coverage we all know they're both offside, talk about the rest of the game!
Analysis on BT Sport is laughable. Yes, the City goal was far more marginal than ours, but if we're playing to the letter of the law (which it is easy to do with these two incidents because there is no need to judge intent or anything subjective), then the officials have got two decisions wrong - yes one understandably and one not so much so - and its evens as a result.
On nbc the commentator said "that's, erm, just about onside". It was like he was thinking "offside" but someone had told him not to call it. Strange. I missed the goal, again.
