Good choice greensaint, Block 37 is where its at ! Oh i am hoping for a return to more expansive Mane type attacking today, Saints have put over so many crosses thus far this season but the conversion rate has been awful. Pelle is our top scorer but i would like to see him dropped to the bench today, i actually like him as a centre fwd but think that we need to change the focus of the attack somewhat today and quicken it up. Cant see it happening and RK knows far better than me, but ......

I remember hearing in the build up to the midweek game that Pelle was out because of injury?

It does rather depend on the quality of the crosses though doesn't it. I think we would struggle without Pelle even on moderate form against Prem quality teams, as we used to without Sir Ricky.

2nd goal v ManUre shows what he can do if we get crosses to him rather than hit the 1st defender, clear everyone beyond the back post or hit the cross so high that the keeper has the chance for a sneaky vape and a friendly wave to his mum in the stands before ambling out to catch the ball when it returns from the heavens!

I think it would be madness to drop him. Strikers need confidence and his must be sky high after two goals and the woodwork against a team that'll end up in the top four. He'll be top of the world and should be keen to keep it up.

I agree. How can you drop a striker who scores two good goals against Man U? Who'd be Ron!? Each striker got two goals in their last game and there is only room for a max of three on the pitch...unless we really are chasing it :(

    Southampton v Swansea
Southampton are not the team they were last season but I still saw a few signs in their defeat by United that they are heading in the right direction.
Swansea were a little bit fortunate to get a draw with Everton, who made the better chances. The Welsh side did not really test a young Toffees defence and I am backing Saints to get the points.
    Lawro's prediction: 2-1
    Kelly's prediction: 0-1

Lawro's predicting us to win, but then he thought we'd beat United. :(

I thought we would beat Utd too! Lawro is cursing us this season to make up for all the times he predicted we would lose the past couple of seasons - I can feel it - we are doooommed !!

:emoticon-0100-smile .. not really. Still think a draw however.

I agree that its a dilemma but teams need to use their squads when it comes to attacking formations imo. A consistent defensive line-up like we had last season is perfect but at times lately Saints have looked very one-dimensional in attack with Pelle in the team. I like Pelle but would like to see a different attacking formation used at times. But im only a guy on the terracing, i will go with whatever Ron chooses - and moan like f... afterwards if it dont work !!

Our problems haven't really been up front this season have they? Keep it tight at the back and we'll win.

Sounds like there could be a few in the pub! I'll be there by 2, wearing my aap Saints shirt (some of us can't afford new ones every season!) and a green cap. Look for the old geezer with too much white hair and come and say hello.

Annoyingly, I have to pick some friends up from Bristol Airport at 2:40, so I shall miss most of the first half. :emoticon-0101-sadsm
