That old feeling of Déjà vu has once again reared it's ugly head. For the third season running Sunderland have failed to pick up a win in their first 6 fixtures of the league campaign and it doesn't look like those elusive 3 points will be coming any time soon.

Very few will be expecting anything other than defeat this weekend at Old Trafford. Though performances may have not have been impressive, the Red Devils have regained the knack of picking up points even when they don't play well. New signing Anthony Martial flew out of the blocks scoring in each of his first two Premier League game and will be looking to become the first United player to score in his first three Premier League appearances.

Dick Advocaat will be looking for improvement in the Black Cats despite the opponents, in particular the first half performance and defensive organisation.

The stats say it all. We're better when the big man plays. John O'Shea is our best central defender and the only one capable of encouraging a competent, confident performance from his partner. It's a sad indictment but there you go.

    A Word On Manchester United

This week we welcome Ed from the Manchester United fanzine unitedrant.co.uk with a little info on our opponents. A big thank you and best wishes to him.

This is either going to be a massacre or we'll play out of our skins and lose 1-0 to a late O'Shea own goal.

United's defence, though not as bad as ours, isnt great either. I can see a few goals being scored in this game.

DA has got a good record against van gaal, so I dare to dream of a Sunderland upset for Man U. 2-3 to Sunderland. And No, I havent taken anything before writing that ;)

I can't see us getting anything here, they aren't great defensively though so we might get a goal and hopefully an improved performance so that we're at least a little competitive this week, that would be a big improvement on last weekend. Think United will have too much for us though and can see them winning by a couple of goals I'll predict 3 - 1

I've got a funny feeling about this one. We always seem to raise our game against the big boys.

We are on 49 away victories and need 1 for the 50.

Had it been any team coming to us with that stat we all know what would happen.

Could it just possibly work for us?

Surely this has been the case for all our away games this season though. Since Everton?

In Tues cup game despite playing some good football - Man City were uneasy in the first 10- 15 mins - a combination of an atrocious referee & poor team play - schoolboy errors (defence), inaccurate passes (defence & midfield) & not been clinical in front of goal failure to take half chances (forwards) - could be embarrassing - but with a decent referee & bit of luck - could be an upset - KTF and ETU

Sunderland played ok against City, were probably the better side until the law that the teams under pressure get **** all decisions came into play. Hopefully Sunderlamd can get some of the luck swinging the other way against a bang average Utd side.
On the train to Spurs,I won't be happy coming home if we're still not looking down on the tiresome rag bastards

From your responses to my posts - your post not unexpected - luckily I've no problems with your often distracting SLPs oops another TLA -
I don't know who you are - why not have a Not606 meeting place in fanzone before matches - faces known & friendly banter and may stop unneccssary angst in many NOT606 (emotional) posts - obviously some angst is needed/acceptable & set in stone due to prescence of WUMs - lol
Sorry GA but more lazy TLAs - KTF and ETU ( aka = Expect The Unexpected)
