How can we know though? We don't allow ourselves to find out, and instead pick Sissoko Split Pea.

As I said, I don't think he is ready but me personally would give him the chance if it wasn't for moronic fans!

I think the fans like him, he tries. The fans have always responded to that. He'll be fine. As shown against Arsenal, the fans are not a problem. They have been right behind the team when the team has put the yards in. They just won't accept the Watford and Sheff Wed debacles where players are half cocked, and the manager is making borderline crazy selections. He looks to be bottling the big decisions for me.

I won't ever boo because I can't see what it achieves, but the problem isn't the fans mate. Its the same up and down the country - if you want your fans on your side, try. People respond to effort. Good play is just a bonus that takes it up a notch. Come out and go through the motions, or be too afraid to play because you are scared you might get booed? You shouldn't be out there and should grow a set of balls. We need these highly paid toss pots to step up to the plate and start earning their money. If they don't care enough to display a bit of giving a **** about the current situ, then they deserve everything they get.

I disagree to a certain extent - take Alnwick, he tried but was booed and ridiculed and as he was a goalkeeper he was scapegoated. This has happened numerous times over the years and not just to youngsters. A player doesn't play well and the fans turn their backs, no support, no encouragement at all. If they are then given a chance by the manager it takes 6-12 months for fans to get behind the same player.

No one has seen enough of the lad to know if he's good enough or not.

The odd fleeting glimpse has been encouraging, but, has brought the problem of unnecessary expectation being thrust upon his shoulders, which in the current circumstances could do him more harm than good.

Some fans seem to think, he can be some sort of saviour, when he needs to brought through at the right pace at the right time.

I'd like to think we end up with a decent player, not one, broken up and ending up on the scrapheap by the club pushing him in too quickly.

We can't expect that from him, its a team game full stop. Its much simpler than that for me. Does he improve our current team and form. Yes.

There are players who have had a hard time but not many get booed. I don't remember Alnwick getting booed DPP? There were groans when he dropped clangers but that is football. I just don't get this insistence on being sympathetic all the time. I think this is the problem. You have some fans who want to cuddle them, some who want to slate them. I just want them managed which requires a mixture of both. One thing I do know is that the fans carry zero responsibility for the current situ. That is entirely down to the transfer policy, the manager and the players. No excuses for me.
