absolutely disgusting. i'd be even more disgusted if i supported someone like everton..a good honest proper club doing everything the right way, then overtaken by that shower of ****e close to us because of what? hard work? great squad? no..some arabs oil money. they're still a small club with a small mentality. all that money, no class

Saw this earlier. We took around 40m in from selling half our squad after the relegation season so I wouldnt read too much into it.

Carroll is 35 million of it.

Then we were forced to balance the books after relegation, so Bassong, Martins, Beye, Duff etc had to go.

At least we're making money on transfers, rather than wasting them like when Shepherd was in charge. The frightening things are the vast majority of City's money has been spent in the last 2 years and that in the first two years up till we signed Coloccini.

To be fair the mackems were 43 points behind in 2006, so had a lot of ground to make up.

Depressing if you're a gooner considering they're in the CL year after year and only need a couple of quality signings to push Man U etc for the league.

  14. What i'm most sick of is the few people that praise Ashley for his "sensible financial decisions". People should open there eyes and see he's only do it to help himself.

He makes hundreds of millions off the sports direct signs, the tv profit, sports direct itself, and we see next to none of it! He paints his **** all over our beloved stadium and we get nothing in return for putting up with it!

It's bull****, he's made some financial decisions which will help the club i'm sure, but don't think for one second that he's doing it for us, and i personally don't see trying the cheapest option and expecting results as a good decision at all.

I don't think we should be spending bolt loads of cash and just paying any player what they want in wages, and i hate the people that think it's good that we're not spending money because that way we wont go into debt, and Ashley is smart for doing this.

We can spend 15-20m on transfers and still be miles away from putting ourselves in financial danger. Ashley's profits have been boasted everywhere and it's obvious his priorities lie elsewhere. He's an intelligent man, but not a good man at all.

The reason we've been successful recently is because of our fantastic scouting system and pure luck, but we can't just rely on luck with cheap players if we want to push forward with ambition and achieve things. Sometimes you need to spend money, and just because Everton and Spurs managed to be successful on a smaller budget, doesn't mean we will. It's good that we're not throwing money away, but it's a gamble to do the other extreme and not spend any money at all!

Another rant. He's not making money out of this club, no one in the world buys a football club to turn a profit and neither is he. Whatever money he makes from his other businesses has nothing to do with NUFC, he's not obliged to throw money at the club, especially when it owes him over 100 million.

I don't think this is as bad, as people think. What happens when the Sky money drys up and fans stop going to games as they can't afford it and download it for free/ watch games? The teams who aren't spending silly money will be the one's who will advance, while clubs like Man City's owners don't want to know anymore and leave them to face the music.

  17. If he wants his money back then i suggests he gives us some cash to spend, as in the long run it will mean success and therefore more money will come into the club. Cups/Europe = Cash, plus more TV coverage which earns even more cash, and the more points you score, the more cash you get. I'm not saying he should throw money at the club, i'm saying he should realize that investing cash will help the club in the long run, and make the fans and him happy.

If he continues to go with this cheap miracle option, then it could back fire and cost the club more than it would have done in transfers. Don't say "Well paying through the nose for players and their wages could backfire on us also", i know that, and i'm not saying we should be silly and splash a bolt load of cash, but i don't see why we can't see at least half of the Carroll transfer fee go on new players.

We need a proper replacement. Demba Ba isn't a worthy replacement in my opinion, at all. We got lucky as **** that Liverpool payed a ridiculous fee for Carroll, which should give us the means to spend some cash on a quality replacement(s).

If he gives us 15-20 mil, buys a quality striker, and then ****s off with the rest of the money we earn in the coming season, i won't complain. I'd rather pay a heavy fee for Sturridge who's young and can score goals, than pay cheap for a risky foreign striker who's never played in the league before. Both are gambles, but i know which one i'd rather take. <ok>

We've outspent Man U season by season? Surely not?

    Hard to believe...

Man U's net spending looks a lot less when you minus 80 million for Ronaldo.
