I don't live far from Manchester at all. I've seen two. One of then lived with me for 12 years and part of that was in Manchester, the other dresses half as a tranny (wears stockings and a skirt) with a City shirt (sponsored by Brother). Looks like its never been washed but at least you know he's been around in the dark times or should that be she?
My gym burnt down a month ago. The sauna caught fire (wtf) and the whole place went up. Swimming pool and everything. Need to find another that doesn't contain today's ****er of choice (the type who follow fads and post about going to the gun, still) but until then just bought a cross trainer for now.
One or two are popping up now where I live. I've seen youngsters in them, which is understandable enough as kids will do that sort of thing. But adults? I've lived here a long time and it was similar in 1996 when you'd see Newcastle shirts all over the shop. Now you don't! These twats just follow whoever Sky Sports tells them is the latest flavour or the month. I fully accept we have a good few 'fans' of our own who fit this bill! I encourage my own sons to support the local side but am itching to take them to Old Trafford to show them what it's all about.
When I was back in Alty I never saw a City shirt at all. Until May 2012 when one strolled past my living room window. Coincidence? Probably. To be fair I never saw that many Utd shirts either - we were far too posh for all that.
What's the view on football shirts per se? A friend of mine is 24 and wears one to every match and when he plays football and my opinion is he looks ridiculous for doing so. Anyone above 16 should have grown out of it and any adult with a player's name on their shirt really does need help. Then again, if thousands of people are buying them, I must be in the minority.
Don't care one bit. I have a few from over the years and some retro ones which I don't mind wearing (most wouldn't realise its a football shirt tbh). Fashion is bollocks. There's no right or wrong only what insecure people perceive. Tonight O am going to lounge around in a pair of slazenger joggers and a t short from Asda (thats like a tenners worth of clothes ffs) Do you know why, because I don't care one bit. There's no doorman or fashion police at my house. Football shirts are just sports tops with a club crest on them anyway. People wear Nike, adidas and even Kappa (when did that come back, was it ever in?) Tops do what's the harm. Full kit ****ets cross a line though, under no circumstances, unless you play for the team in question, should you be in the full kit. Liverpool fans are famous for this, 67% of their fan base have worn a full Liverpool kit outdoor, in view of the public. That is disgusting. Didn't anybody think of the children.
Too old for them now. When I was in teens and twenties used to have one here and there for holidays and such like but that's it. The only time I've ever worn one at an actual match as a grown up by my memory was the 1999 CL final when it would have been rude not to really. Last one I bought was a Vodafone Nike one, circa Ruud van Nistelrooy. Still got it but never wear it. I went to HK and Thailand for six weeks that summer and it proved ideal for the climate so there are probably one or two too many pics of me wearing it, sat on elephants and rafts and such like. I wear it playing squash now. I think adults should not wear them as a rule. Full kit ****ers really should be shot.
Same here, except mine was a Rooney one. Also wore it in Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, along with a knock off Ronaldinho one I got in Brazil. Think I got rid of it, tho' it may still be in a box in the attic somewhere. Wholly agree that adults should not wear them, unless they are at a game.
