Thanks FTP. The 606 thing get too silly at times with the B'pool lot writing stupid remarks. I am all for banter but some of the stuff was purile. So I couldn't be bothered with it. Always enjoyed your contribution though. I was glad when PB took over.I think he knows football. I had respect for AI, a decent man & probably a good coach. AS for Fergie Mark 2, he didn't have plan B & that is obvious also from the way P'borough play. My brother-in-lal bought a season ticket for North End because he reckons NE has some cracking young players coming through the ranks. I hope they get a decent chance.

Another rumour to chew over maclad....Southampton will complete the signing of Preston striker Neil Mellor on Monday in a straight swap deal with saints leftback Joseph Mills. No idea how much weight can be attached to this one, but like the other rumours "you never know"....
Will see if he plays tonight, somehow doubt it though as they've got Lambert plus the lad from Southend whose name escapes me at the minute plus David Connelly
hi to all you 606ers...this is my first post although i read evry day. good to see mells grab his first goal of pre-season tonite...hopefully more to come in the upcoming weeks. still think we need another striker though as mells, hume and proctor is not enough to last a full season...personally i think a punt on QPRs Rowan Vine would be a good punt.

Morning all.. Now that PB has had time to take a good look at Cooper/Mills/McLean (the trialists) both in training and in the pre season games, It could be time that decisions are about to be made regarding if they have any future at PNE. Reading match reports etc, all three have done well so I do expect movement from the club in signing at least two of them. Cooper and Mills being two left sided players are what PNE are short of with Mills being a leftback and Cooper able to play all the left sided positions, could we end up with both of them ????. Leftback is the outstanding gap in the PNE squad. McLean has also proved himself to be a versatile player being strong in the centre of defence and capable at right back as well. Then there is the question of Lucas to be decided, interesting that he wasn't given a start at Kilmarnock either in the team or on the bench. I personaly hope the above issues can be concluded as quickly as possible.
Wendies agree fee for Mello but unsurisingly wages can't be agreed the new James Beattie doesn't want to be paid less than he's on now
There are one or two rumours floating about that PB is not all that happy due to losing out on a couple of transfers "in" that he wanted and had arranged, i assume that M Hill could have been one of them. I do hope there is no substance to the rumours as the last thing PNE or the fans need is for PB to walk. Only rumour as I have indicated but a tad worrying none the less.
Afternoon TFP, my view is that PB would have walked long before now, he knows the situation, we don' have a lot of money therefore have to cut cloth accordingly, we become a selling club again. Also think theer is a salary cap in League 1 therefor financial rules have to be adherred too. We are now in the real world, the days of spending what you have not got have gone.
All that you indicate is quite true maclad, "but" if promises were made by ML and have been broken OR the goal posts have been moved by ML, then there could be a problem. It is only rumour and probably has no truth in it... Off topic: have you seen anything of "Lillywhite For Ever" on your travels..???????.
I would be very surprised if this turned out to have real substance maclad, with Lonners and his family being in Preston and his well documented daughter's health problems it would seem to be a none starter from what I can see...
