Fair play to Namibia they gave it a go...scored a good try as well. All Black's scored a cracking last try. ..great vision and skill.... Out of interest when did it become ok for the hooker to throw in the line out standing inside the line or is that just a thing that nz are allowed to do?
Sam Burgess spent many a time getting 'put on report' or sent off playing rugby league here in Oz. I often thought that was his reason for going to union. Once a player here gets pinged time and time again, whether he is right or wrong, he's tainted and they don't let up on them. Sammy liked to use a low swinging arm more often than not. He was one of the old school type of players. Nowadays, it's friggin touch footy................... don't get me started !
Namibia did better than expected and got a try as well, although I feel the All Black's coasted once they got the bonus point. NZ are going to be quite fresh going into the knock-out stages which is an advantage they don't need...
I don't profess to be a huge rugby fan but would it be fair to say the odds on Georgia of up to 12/1 are quite generous to beat the Argies? Guessing they will be a little battered from playing New Zealand while Georgia had a tough game but should be confident after beating Tonga. Georgia are evens with a 19 point headstart which looks good to me too. Thoughts from any rugby aficionados? Edit- got Georgia to win at 14.5/1 on Betfair and at about 13/10 with a 16.5 start. Georgia til I die.
I'd expect an Argy win, they showed enough against the All Blacks, but Georgia may be worth a couple of quid. Of course if they do win you'd be cursing you didn't put more on. I think the rankings work much more accurately in rugby than in asociation football (happy Swords), which is why the Japan - SA result was such a huge upset. World Cup has come a year too early for him, but it may be a winning gamble. Exciting anyway. It's a shame that Joseph was the one to pick up an injury, I'd like to see him paired with Burgess.
The Argies are a much better side than they are given credit for, so just can't see an upset here. The 19 point handicap looks about right, you'll get a run for your money with that...
I think it's worrying for England that Lancaster has flipped Ford and Farrell. Such uncertainty for the key position doesn't auger well for the business end of the tournament, let alone the most important group match we've ever faced. His decision to bin Cipriani is looking even more rash now...
He's more or less gone on record as saying he is spooked by the Welsh. I suspect he feels that if we get through tomorrow then a huge disaster will have been averted. It could backfire spectacularly as all Gatland's done is look at our team and change his won in response... I'm not going to be able to watch the match as I stupidly double booked. Might be a good thing though - does anyone else remember wathcing things like Dr Who as a kid and hiding behind the sofa? I think tomorrow might be like that all over again
Haven't seen many full games so far what with all the distractions here but the All Blacks with their tails up are a sight to behold as they were late on against Namibia. It's the beautiful game, everyone else is just trotting behind in the dust.
It certainly won't be for the faint-hearted but I would love to have got a ticket for this one. Shameful that such a huge number of tickets have gone to the corporates many of whom don't know their arse from their elbow in rugby terms...
Unfortunately this is what these types of occasions have become, sponsors money talks loudest.........
