Boro have won their last six matches, thanks mainly to fringe players who have stepped up to the mark. Two players that Karanka may be without at the weekend are Christian Stuani and Daniel Ayala, according to the Gazette. Stuani and Ayala have both made impressive starts to the season, but they face a race against time to be fit. Leeds fans everywhere hope beyond hope that Rosler will drop Wooton and recall in form right back Beradi. Leeds have been struggling for goals. It will be interesting to see whether Rosler will play both Antenucci and Wood upfront, or try to get the midfield to play with creativity and flair going forward, and tracking back to defend when necessary. On paper, they are more than capable. Leeds will not start Will Buckleys contract until next week, mean he'll be freed up to play during the congested Christmas fixtures. Leeds odds to win the game are 5/1. Surely, thats worth a dabble?
Tough game against a well organised team with a top coach for this level. Both squads are similar in quality and the difference will be in tactics and set-up, so for me Karanke V Rosler. Has anyone see the U21 display of our new boy as he puts in a ball with the outside of his right boot for casper Sloth to ntake a touch and slot home. Quality skill and with luck the lad may be getting a game at the weekend, but when will Sloth get a chance because he's scoring goals and playing well and is a full Danish International. Has he bum raped someone at the club?
Morning all. This new blood can't get involved soon enough in my books. Both seem like players likely to worry the opposition. We seem to be missing that for extended periods in matches allowing opposing teams, even poor ones, to push as many players forward as they like
Morning Doc, the Sloth debate is a strange one, for the reasons you stated. I'd love it if we beat em..
Morning Eire, gutted we havn't been Botaka in first team action. I saw the clip Doc was talking about, and yes, was fantastic.
Good morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey I would love to know what has happened to Erwin before the season started I was full of praise for this young lad but since then nothing. We must not play Mowatt Wootton as they were inept at best last game Byram will this be his last game afterwards I can see him as a sub .I still think that there as been some agreement with Sunderland re a swap deal of Byram for Buckley with cash coming to us If we set up right I can see us getting a 1-0 win remember its only a couple of weeks ago Bristol City won there 1-0 and funny enough they seem to play better away from home .Well I think so . Sloth has just not produced at first team level so I think let him go out on loan for a while you don't get to be an international without talent I would keep him with that proviso
Unfortunately theres more to the Championship than fancy flicks. I too saw that clip but also saw some fancy clips on video from Adryan and we know how that ended up. The guy didnt have the stomach for the physical stuff. Until we see Botaka play some full games we have no way of knowing
Morning all - I saw the same clip, I know we shouldn't expect too much from that one clip but surely he has to be better than Byram. I can't see Byram starting another game and why should he? If he isn't signing a new contract and he hasn't been on form it really is a pointless exercise, my concerns about Rosler have increased ever so slightly and they will jump up another level if he picks Byram or Wootton this weekend. Sloth is a very strange one, I thought it was just something personal between Sloth and Redfearn but for Rosler to not be picking him as well? I am sure I read some positive things in regards to his performance in the last two games he actually played in the correct position and not wide left. I wouldn't expect sweeping changes for the Boro game, just Berardi back in and maybe Botaka for Byram if he is ready.
Boro are a better side than us... We took 6 fairly fortuitous points off them last season and cost them promotion... we'll do well to nick a point. I think people sometimes underestimate the step up from u21 to first team, the pace and physicality are a level up. Some guys look great with time on the ball but struggle to adapt. They've said they don't want to chuck botaka in at the deep end, but in my view, a wide player is one position you can take a bit of a punt on. Maybe they want to make sure he understands his defensive job etc, but like most fans, starved of excitement, it would be good to see him get 20 mins at the weekend... That may depend on how the previous 70 mins have gone.
On paper they're capable, that's cos a piece of paper is smaller than a football pitch and they don't have so far to run......
Im not ignoring anyone. I have food poisoning. Been sick (and the other) over 20 times. Really struggling today
Evening all. Get well soon Elland. On the 'Boro match, I think we'll have to work very hard just to get a point. We need everyone performing to their max, & we need Byram to put himself in the shop window if he really wants to leave. I'd go 451 with Botaka preferably starting, but if not, certainly on the bench. I'm hoping for at least a draw, but I'm not confident
I'd have Byram on from the off. I reckon at 22 or whatever, with Botaka and Buckley appearing behind him, Cellino's broadside and the need to attract attention from outside pronto, he'll play a blinder.
Try an Immodium if you have one Elland, though it won't help much with the vomiting...feel better soon mate.
Hope you feel better soon Elland Byram is out of contract next year, I can't see us getting much for him come January with 6 months left so I wouldn't worry about the shop window, if he keeps performing as he has been then his value will drop even further. When it comes to the ruling of a player under 24 I am not sure how it works, I think a tribunal sets the fee and as someone else pointed out the other day, the low wage offering we have made to him will surely have some affect on his value?
Eire, agree but what's the point of bringing him in and not giving him a go. Personally I think Rosler is a too defensive minded coach setting us up not to lose, which may hamper the chances of any 'flair' player.
