The bar is 3 times as big as Lion and Key I believe and will have more than one actual bar. No plans for a restaurant although they are looking to serve a speciality food much like Lion and Key is a fish restaurant. Flats are also part of the development. Have been invited to look round but I've never got round to it, ill see if I can have a look this weekend and maybe get some snaps. I believe people were objecting to Citadel House being turned in to flats, its empty offices at the minute.
I see all the car dealers are up in arms about the dust. By the reaction from the demolition contractor sounds like Manor have hired a bunch of cowboys to do the job.
I bet the residents within earshot aint happy I walked down little high street last night at 11 40pm and the noise was pretty load Bet they dont get much sleep
Anyone know what's happening at 2-4 King Edward Street? Used to be Dolland & Aitchinson back in the day, been empty for quite some time. It's currently enveloped in scaffolding and tarpaulin. I've looked on that HCC thing DMD put on but can't find anything, don't know if I'm using it right like. Thought there might be a business moving in, it's a good location right in the corner of the square which is gonna to be central to the city centre build. Could just be general structural work of course. Just wondered!!
If someone's taken it over, the agents have been slow taking the details down, it's still available according to their website... http://www.scotts-property.co.uk/uploads/pdfs/2-4-King-Edward-Street-Hull.pdf
Just came across this (courtesy of Hull The Good Old Days)... Anlaby Road looked much nicer in 1847, the big gaff on the left is Newington Hall (the Estate apparently ran from Walton Street all the way to Anlaby) please log in to view this image It really was an impressive building, shame it was demolished in 1908... please log in to view this image
