Where is your soul man <laugh> The FA Cup is open to ALL football teams and has rich history. The League Cup has nothing except MONEY. How dare you compare the two. <cool>

Birmingham got relegated because of their switching off, while Liverpool were challenging for a Europa spot and were in 6th before the final - then won only 13 points from 13 games following their win and drop to to 8th

That's horrible. Don't expect that from the Woolwich. I doubt their fanbase will be too happy about it.

Yeah agree. I wonder whether the fact this was an early round meant that tickets were more readily available than for other NLDs and we ended up with some morons that don't regularly go? Certainly the Arsenal fans are not normally anywhere near the top of the moron league.
Also, when was the last midweek NLD? Can't happen that often, lots of drinking time.

This is a fanbase who were known for chanting they'd rather be a (racist term used to describe all South Asians) than a (word that David Baddiel hates us using, despite his ignorance that the reason we're using it is because of Chelsea fans - such as David Baddiel)

2010 - which is also the last time our manager sacked off a NLD in the League Cup

I've heard that from Chelsea and West Ham, but never Arsenal. Perhaps it's a few fringe idiots, as Spurm's suggested?

Anyway I just watched the game and thought we played alright we could easily have won the game, with our reserves, not bad, what are you all moaning about. LOL. The worst thing was Garry Taphouse his method is to pick out the faults and emphasize them and say little when the play is going smoothly. All fouls become 'incidents' and all mistakes are 'major'. He certainly encourages a very negative view of the game.

Right let's get on with some proper competitions and be thankful we have left this fiasco for another season.:1980_boogie_down:

i'm coming around to the idea of thinking we are too good for the league cup. Its not true in the slightest but it feels better.

So, better not to waste our time.

I can disagree without feeling. Try it (you might find you like it) .

But how much of that was measurably dule solely to having Brenton as manager,
rather than players "switching off" .

Yeah, I was just doing a bit of a browse myself and noticed all of those in amongst the various Chelsea and West Ham articles.
Seems like it's something that pops up at some of their away games, which attracts a slightly different group to their average home supporter.

The online stuff is something that all clubs have a problem with, in my opinion.
As we've all seen on here and I'm sure elsewhere, you're always going to have a few poisonous idiots looking for attention.

Nothing at all - Rodgers was still at Swansea at the time.

The weird thing is that by all accounts, Arsenal have more Jewish fans than Spurs. Yesterday was the Jewish Day of Atonement so I guess a lot of regulars from both sides weren't at the match. I'm well informed that it's the holiest day of the year for them; they fast for 25 hours so I guess watching Fazio on an empty stomach probably isn't so appealing to Tottenham's Jewish fan base. <laugh>

Happy New Year to any Jewish posters on here by the way <cheers>

Yep, yom kippur. I've not heard of the fasting thing though, maybe that is only the serious ones. I'm marrying into a Jewish family and i've never heard anything about them fasting tbh. But then they also eat pork.

"The weird thing is that by all accounts, Arsenal have more Jewish fans than Spurs."

That has been my experience too with all my acquaintances.

There is the folklore that in the early 80s an FA Cup tie at WHL was rescheduled due
to it falling on Yom Kippur. I don't know if that is the moment at which the anti-semitic
taunts picked up, or whether there was a larger percentage of colour-blind Chelsky/Spanner
supporters in the population then that mistook Spurs kit for the Goons.

I shouldn't be laughing. The stuff I've heard from them at WHL aimed at Jewish people has made my skin crawl. Vile, classless scum the lot of them.

Interesting point but if I don't have the feeling I would only engage for money.
