I think that I'm just about finished with this club now!

In all the time I have supported this club I have never felt so apathetic about this team as I do now. Its like you are reliving a recurrent nightmare week after week, month after month. Nothing has changed and nothing will change. The day that man walked into our club, swilling his beer down on camera, it has been downhill all the way since. Every football fan loves a good moan about their team from time to time but I am sick of typing the same negative comments day after day. But when there is never anything positive to say, what else can you type.
Once again, even more so than Sunderland, we have become the laughing stock of English Football. At least fans feel pity for Blackpool, with us the feel contempt. Not only have the players got a victim mentality, I think a vast amount of fans have too. And who can blame us, when it is obvious that virtually every sports media outlet has something nasty and vitriolic to say about us on a daily basis.

How on earth ended up in this position??

I think you are the worst doom and gloom merchant ever <laugh>

It has been shocking for a few years. Some thought this would be different under a new regime, some thought otherwise, some weren't sure. It looks not at present but its very early to be jumping off the bridge this season. We have massive problems and are clearly early relegation candidates along with our enemies down the road, but it can turn round very quickly too.

Charnley needs to be sacked as a starting point. Without that, we have nothing to look forward to. From there, he needs to be replaced with Nicola Cortese or someone of that calibre. Then Ashley needs to set some basics about %age wages to turnover, where the money comes from for new players then just turn around and fck off to Hertfordshire; disassociate himself entirely from the club he owns, just be the benefactor, not involved at all in its' running.

Unless he grows up and gets to grips with his own limitations, we will be forever floundering and eventually relegated. McLaren is/was a poor choice, but so was Thauvin, so was Colo's contract, so was Cabella - the man signing the paperwork on this is Lee Charnley, not Graham Carr, not Mike Ashley. I've said for a long time that man should be buried, and he's still here fcking everything up. Did someone on here say - Obi I think - that he had his head in his hands for about 5 minutes at the end of last nights debacle; one can only hope and pray that means he's on a short noose.

Anyone that thinks we will be OK is edging towards insanity.

It looks like we will HAVE to beat Chelsea again, just like previous seasons, to give us a chance. But Pardew was, and is, a better manager than McClaren. What a horrible fact that is!!!

You're going down, mainly because the fans are making the players edgy and nervous, it's like the opposition having an extra man. Last season we (WHU) were doing really well up until Christmas, then a run of injuries and tough matches meant we pretty much lost every game in Jan, and so the crowd turned, ignoring the context of what was happening, after that you could see in the way the players played what a detrimental affect it was having.
You're 6 games in and haven't arrested last seasons form, and already the crowd has turned, even with a result against Chelsea I can't see the crowd coming back to McLaren.
It's ironic, it's at times like these that teams need the support for the full 90mins, but it's the last thing the fans want to give.

99% agree with this - it's too early to say we're going down but definitely a relegation struggle at best.

Season starts in October - fans need to back Steve so he has the power to make the necessary changes.

I've just checked the weather in Istanbul and it is cloudy at present and apparently M/T/W there are thunder storms.
The dark clouds are indeed gathering.

Trust a numpty from southern-numptyland to decide it's the fans fault, it appears that we are not the only deluded ones.

It didn't say it was the fans fault, but if you seriously think working with 50k people booing everything you do doesn't have a detrimental affect you're a fool. The atmosphere at St James' park is toxic for the home team, and has been for a while.

You don't even know you're born. Try 5 seasons under 40 points in the last 8 seasons

Mate, it wasn't as if the fans thought "I'm really enjoying this football, the way my club is run, I'm going to boo everything". Do you not think for one minute that the fans have been driven to this point? As a Hammer you must have been there, what about Allardyce?

Sorry, not being horrible, but comments like yours just show a lack of understanding; it's better not to comment unless everything has been weighed up. I suppose the fans were wrong for getting on Pardew's back too....

He means the same Pardew that nearly took you guys down and selected Hayden Mullins over Mascherano because he thought Mullins was the better player, remember him. Pardew holds a lot of records up here, none of them are wanted like longest period without a win. He also had a 40.70% loss rate the second highest in our history ever!

I do agree on one level. I'm not sure there is anything positive to be gained from booing, hence I don't do it to our own.

However I can understand it. Even without the booing, the atmosphere can turn toxic after 20-30mins of poor effort and conference standard passing. People moan and groan a bit. The reality is though that 99% of the time the fans start the game behind the team and cheering/singing. There have been games when it hasn't been the case. The point is its normal human behaviour, and the way to counteract it is to give the fans something to continue cheering. Good football would be nice but all it really requires at Newcastle is effort. As the game with Arsenal showed.
