    Hi Mr. Yedin.

Is your son enjoying his time on wearside?

Tell him to keep away from Adam Johnson.

There was a lot of fluid play from Sunderland in that clip, though clips can be misleading. It doesn't look like a team lacking ability. I liked Yedlin's first time control very much, and a couple of his crosses. Once or twice, when in a tight corner, he laid it off accurately to a team mate with one touch. I Iike what I saw.

He seems to be a sensible player as well - get's the ball in a tight spot and moves it on quickly - also looks to attack when he gets the ball - intelligent movement off the ball.

Defensively is the bit I'm not sure on! but I guess we'll find out more in the coming weeks/months

Is that a reason for playing him on the right wing? Let's face it, we should have had two goals out of those crosses, not just one. The deciding question might be can he or Johnson do it more consistently. Whoever can gets it for me.

"Yedlin did really well for his first game," Advocaat told reporters after the 4-1 defeat. "He needs to get to know the players better, but I was pleased with the space he found himself in and his work rate. I'm not sure how he'll figure on Saturday as [regular right back] Billy Jones has been one of our best players."

    Maybe.

He looks really good, on another plane of existence to Billy Jones. Looked solid at the back from what I could see, by our standards at least.

There was a couple of pretty funny burns in the article aimed at us, something like "the midfield were passing the ball like a drunk man missing his glasses", sounds about right.

Hope it's not true about Adam Johnson. His baby mama looks like Princess Kate. It seems like that would be a terrible loss for him.
If it is true, I don't think AJ would have any better luck catching up to #24 than Kolarov did.

I'm sure Deandre is loving his time at SOL. A chance to go toe to toe for 90 minutes against the best line up in the world, compared to only 11 minutes against Aston Villa the whole 2nd half of the season at Spurs, is a great opportunity for an American. Thank you Safc.

My real son is an 11 yr. old RB. That's the reason for all of the interest in the technical details.

I followed Dempsey from Spurs to the Sounders, so I saw most everyone of Deandre's MLS games. The Sounders are downright boring w/o Yedlin. I think he's an exciting player and our best chance to blaze a trail for future US players looking to play in Europe.

I told my son that I would by him a Sunderland #24 jersey, but he told me he'd rather have a Sergio Aguero jersey instead. I think a Sunderland jersey would look great with "Old Glory" blue shorts.

Yedlin made the MLS all star team as a rookie and the national team the following year. People started to rate him after the Belgium game, and his containment of Hazard, in the world cup. He has helped himself a lot in his last 270 minutes for club and country. I think people started to forget about him while he was down in the dungeon at White Heart Lane.

Jurgen Klinsmann told Altidore to move to a big club when he came to Sunderland to get more game time! Not sure if he'll get more recognised at SAFC than on the bench or in the reserves at Spurs!

Klinsmann said the same thing to Dempsey. Now Fulham is in the Championship and Dempsey is in the MLS.

He had a good game. We had a good game despite the score line.
