I agree. But the University my wife is at all exams are done and automatically graded by computer and a computer can't grade your work.

For my son School teachers in the US are generally lazy and get by with as little work as possible.

    He has.
And more than once I've questioned the wisdom of giving out personal information on people without their consent on a public forum. The people in question would be relatively easy to identify if necessary and there's been a lot of info given out- ranging from personal criticism, details of infidelity, right through to a number of (alleged) illegal activities.
RHC is no fool, but I do think there's a certain naiveté about what can happen over the web (no offence meant, RHC).
The fact that he was unaware of the ease in which you can follow his trip to the Cheese on Google Earth shows this.
The chances of any serious repercussions are slim, but this is not a private area, and I think it's best to reveal no more than you definitely want people to know, and that revealing private information about others is definitely something that needs careful consideration.
I agree with jb that posting pictures of his house might be taking it a bit too far.

Anyway, serious bit over- I did follow the route to the Cheese, and tried to work out all of the places he's fallen over. <laugh>

Agree completely. As I said it's not us you need to worry about with the private info, anybody, anywhere can read this and it isn't really very wise giving out too much detail. IMO

Smart money should be on the low wall outside the petrol station. I've been over that about 4 times. Grass on the other side though, thank ****. Once i lost my mobile phone doing it (didn't realise at the time). Some young lad found it and handed it in at the garage, where we're well known (they sell Carling). They told Vic when she walked in. He didn't leave any contact info, or I would have bunged him a few quid. An honest citizen in downtown LA <laugh>

I've had a few conversations with mito about privacy because he is quite guarded as well, doesn't want anyone to know where he lives etc. And just to add does anyone know if he's away atm I pm'd him about 5 or 6 days ago but got no answer. Hope he's alright.

    Google your address.
Go to the map that comes up.
There's a little yellow man in the corner. If you drag that onto the map you can drop him onto street level. Blue lines show the roads.
You can then walk in any direction along roads that the Google cameras have been on. Which is almost all public roads in the UK.

Google Cheshire Cheese, Warrington. A map will come up with a small photo in the bottom left corner saying 'street view' - click on that and then manoeuvre your way.

Edit: ..... or what saint said <ok>

    Thanks. I was getting worried.

I always think back to pm'ing Dave, not getting a reply and leaving it at that.

  20. He's been gone a long time though, plus there aren't that many places in the world where you can't get a signal. He was having a strop just before he went too so maybe he just decided to have a break from here too.
