I said at end of last season when Rodgers survived the chop- he should be given about 6 games at start of season and then be analysed again.

He's got two games left to prove he deserves the role (IMO). Two good performances and then the date to review him gets pushed back a little.

    Guten tag

As we all know, football is a strange business trading in millions and billions with a high turnover in managerial positions which are usually followed by substantial compensation packages.

Which manager do you think will be fired first?

    1. Dick Advocaat (Sunderland)

After saving Sunderland last year Advocaat was persuaded (using coinage) to stave off retirement and to instead have another year at Sunderland. Since then, the Black Cats have played 8 games and have only recorded one victory - at home to Exeter in the League Cup where they still conceded 3.

They have not won any of their 6 league games, drawing 2 and losing to Leicester, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Norwich at home - scoring just 6 (more than Liverpool) and conceding 13.

The remaining game was the League Cup defeat to Manchester City (4-1).

    2. Steve McLaren (Newcastle)

Rumour has it that McLaren is actually a trained mechanic and has no managerial qualifications whatsoever.

Why Newcastle hired him with his history and having just been fired by a club in the division below is difficult to see.

Nonetheless, since McLaren took over at the start of the season Newcastle have won once out of their 8 games, like Sunderland, to lower league opposition in the league cup (Northampton, 4-1).

In the league Newcastle have lost 4 of their 6 games (drawing two) to Swansea, Arsenal, West Ham and Watford at home. Newcastle have fought 3 and conceded 9.

However, their most embarrassing result in the loss to Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at home against a team who made 10 changes!

    3. Brendon Rodgers (Liverpool)

A lot has already been said, but unlike Advocaat and McLaren, Rodgers has spent £300 million on assembling a team that cant beat Norwich or League 2 Carlisle at home.

He has assembled an average bunch of exceptionally overpriced players who do not have a clue about the system that Rodgers wants them to play.

The team is rudderless, leaderless and has clearly lost confidence in Rodgers.

Of Liverpool's 8 games, 3 have been won (Stoke, Bournemouth and Carlisle on penalties).

Liverpool lost embarrassingly at home to West Ham (conceding 3) and also conceded 3 in losing to arch rivals Manchester United.

In the league Liverpool have scored just 4 goals despite spending £40 million on strikers and have conceded 7.

    Conclusion

Despite who we feel deserves to be fired, who do we think will actually go first?

Do you think anyone else might be fired first?

    Agreed.

On weighing up who deserves to go its overwhelmingly Rodgers.

You never know though - we could scrape a run together and he stays whilst McLaren and Advocaat could go if either club is worried about being bottom at Christmas.

A lot of clubs have gambled with new managers to try and keep them up and it often works.

I get the feeling that Advocaat will walk away rather than be sacked. So after a calamitous loss he'll think 'I gave up retirement with my family for this ****' and that'll be it.

Rodgers is being long and drawn out, the problem with the American thing is that it takes so bloody long to decide anything

The run that he needed to save his arse had to start last Saturday mate. 2 home draws have done nothing to save him. He needs to beat Villa and then get a result at Goodison to have any chance of survival IMO.

Rodgers biggest mistake was taking the piss out of **** up after bale...him copying our stupidity has made him look more stupid than AVB (which is dome achievement)

Maclarens biggest mistake was taking a job with newcastle and he could well be out of a job by the international break

I think dick will be on his way shortly. Mclaran will get more time as he's only just arrived.

I think ink the writing is on the wall for Rodgers, it's just a matter of when. Unless he goes on a 10 game winning streak, I can see him going in November time.

Thing is, our owners are unfortunately still impressed with Rodgers because he took us to 2nd and got a manager of the year gong.

Feats like that would make Boston Redsox hall of fame, we ain't a baseball club but under Rodgers we're playing football like a baseball team.

You'd have thought that coming behind us last year, losing to villa in the fa semi final and losing 6-1at stoke would have changed their minds
