I know some people refuse to give LVG any credit for that last day buy of Martial. Rooney not scoring, last minute paying too much blah blah blah. We'll never know for sure. For me it had been planned and buying martial had nothing to do with Rooney not scoring. LVG had already decided to sell Hernandez and januzaj after welbeck. He had IMO already decided to go full speed to grab him at whatever cost. United was prepared to spend £36m going up to £56m. Nothing to do with panic as I said three weeks ago, more to do with massive potential and quality
Martial is becoming the real DEAL. Great game Pereira, and Bastian bossed the midfield. Bring on Sunderland.
Sunderland should be a walkover tbh (probably the kiss of death right there). Bastian was exceptional again
I've seen nothing like it before. Maybe Rooney but I guess it was sort of expected from him. Older fans may know more about Bests first few games and other greats but there can't be many. What a start. Its not luck either. Hes so calm. Like he's 29 not 19. Cannot wait to see him over the years.
Only just seen the score, immediately thought Martial must have scored and he did. Glad to see Rooney on the score sheet hopefully he can kick on in the prem. I take it the performance was that of a routine win?
Was pretty easy. More attacking again, 14 attempts and 8 on target. Liverpool however have had 46 attempts on goal tonight.
Manchester United full Strength 3 Ipswich Town Reserves 0 A team costing £200 Million v A team costing £385,000 Sounds about right.
Not that bothered mate in all honesty. The league is more important for us than a cup that we have no hope of winning.
Another corker. You're a proper card. Please visit us again. Still waiting for my split sides to be seen to so don't come back too soon though! Quality, innovative posting!
Chill mate. We weren't repeating last season. A strong side with a fee changes two teenagers scored in the end.
We weren't quite full strentgh, but yeah I see your point. We probably should have been beating a championship reserve side by a few more than 3 at home
I am sure that no one is gloating for an expected routine victory over much inferior opposition tbh. This wasn't even a run out for the players. Job done. That's basically it.
Nah, why over do it? It was over at 2 but when Martial came on and Memphis, well we had that hunger again. That's great to see tbh.
Exactly that. Job done, and if your manager chooses to bring a 2nd string 11 to Old Trafford what else do you expect.
