its scary eh!BB I know before there used to be over a hundred a day , most not powerful enough to feel!! That was probably building up steam for the major events they have suffered!

Yeah the idea is that they want to set up a social networking site i think, and the +1 option is their idea of the 'like' button. It also shows what people using the site think its good and reputable.

 

Something else to studiously ignore then

 

Its worth clicking it, cos when people search 'watford forums' for instance Not606 will come up and it could have 10 or more +1's which mean people like it. Where as others might have none, so people dont like it.

as far as i know its been there since i have been on here. But then again i never used it and only noticed it a few weeks ago when on my ipod. There are plenty of things to play with lol

 

Evening All, There I was moaning about the heavy lorries on the road today, then I read the piece about Christchurch. I really have nothing to complain about.

I see that Shay Given has just signed a five year contract with Villa at the age of 35. It just goes to show what an easy life keepers have if they can keep going that long

 

So Maltese Mick has had a pretty good indication of people's feelings when it comes down to his chat idea. 70% said no, so I suspect that one is heading for the long grass.

 

I have on problem with the outcome as it stands. 30% of the people, including myself voted for the idea and would like it, but they miss out. Surely those who dont want it just dont use it and turn it off. It just seems unfair.

 

Take your point BHD. I'm not particularly in favour but can't see it being a problem if it can be easily ignored, or turned off as you say.
I don't do social networking ( kind of feel that at my age I've done enough of that in real time, face to face) This site is as social I get. But, pardon my ignorance, isn't this thread in particular in effect a chat thing a lot of the time?

 

Hey GG, the idea of the chat function is that you get one to one private chat with people. The way i understand it is you can appear offline which means people can not see you are about and can not talk to you. I think its a good idea for quick and easy contact people in private, i know its possible to do in PM, but this can be slow and awkward as you get the pop-up notification and have to leave the thread to reply and then go back, where as with this you are able to stay on the same window and thread. I do use FB but mainly cos my mates live miles away, its usually on in the back ground but im not paying attention to it.

 

I hope we dpnt need to order cement frenchie
