Agreed mate. But forget the shambolic preseason and late arrival of key players, after 6 games in they should all be match fit, maybe with the exception of Toivenon.

Pre-Season is great for blowing the cobwebs off and getting the lungs working again but it's no match for game time. And by that i mean EPL game time.

I blame the fitness coaches and it looks to me like we're not putting the miles in on the training pitch.

Don't understand how the 'Gremlins' SNQ referred to could still be present in the club. surely all the playing staff have changed since his tenure?
does this mean the problems are not actually on the pitch and instead in the boardroom?
but hasn't the board also changed since SNQ was chairman/manager?

    i'm confused and despondent.

I don't buy this mate, Pre-seaons are tailored entirely around fitness, Putting that amount of time into it once the season starts just isn't possible. That's why they take longer once to reach full fitness once the season starts. It's clear as day to me that many still have a bit to go, it's visibly seeable. You also need to account for burn out, something comes as a result of fitness training. Probably why so many of them appear to be getting to be getting worse fitness wise. Got to get worse to get better. And you have to consider the amount of time they missed last season, take Kaboul and M'vila, they hadn't played much in the last 6 months at all.

You're right though, Games will get them fitter quicker. Which is why dick is giving them as many minutes as he can. They'll be at full fitness when they get there, but it's clear to me Dick is trying to get them there as quickly as possible. Dick said Christmas to get us to best.

Wasn't disagreeing mate, it's blatantly obvious they're unfit. My point was that after 6 games and approximately 4 weeks on the training ground, a professional footballer should be somewhere near match fitness. And if they're not then we need to look at their training methods as something isn't right.

Got to think of time played as well mate Kaboul, M'Vila, Gomez and Borini hadn't kicked a ball for 6 months. Somewhere near next to somebody who's already there is a half yard. And that's 2nd to everything in this league.

Fair point although my scouse mate tells me Borini trained with the reserves at Liverpool so would be somewhere near fitness, just needs sharpening up. He isn't the problem though, it's the defence and modern day footballers usually keep themselves fit even in the off season.

To be honest, although the results haven't gone our way, i've seen enough to think we can pull ourselves out of this mess once the team are fit.

Definitely. I don't think we'll go down. Dick just needs time to get everyone up to speed and strike the right balance.

At the minute we're making stupid mistakes, probably due to the fitness issue and the fact Dick is playing a relatively new team/system, once they gel we'll be fine i'm convinced of it.

And every year for the last 3, it's been us that have started like this, and we've not had that cracking run yet.

This could be our season mate. Look at the likes of Stoke and West Brom as models, these are the teams we're competing with and if they can do then why not us?

I watch that and can't help but think WTF happened ? Giach and Wickham were telepathic , defense was ROCK and Catts and Larson were bossing it.

Your lying if u didnt think to yourself, we have a proper ****ing little and large combo again. I swore blind CW would go on and bag 20 last year and be in the England squad, the ****ing spice boy ****house.

Could they just not be arsed next year? (granted we lost borini and alonso ) . IMO this is where the "rotten core" theory comes from, i.e. only arse when it matters to them and the bank account.

And that matches up with the fact that we've won most of the second halves this season - give them a half-time kick up the backside and they can do it all right.
