Watched a different game to me then Billy - up to 0-3 we were easily the better side - it then just became attritional and we kept lookng up and worrying about a cricket score as every chance they had seemed to end up in the net! neither team really going for it - Mannone was ****e but the rest were pretty good to watch IMO! Nice football, nice touches and a good goal ruled out for nothing. Penalty also given for a foul outside the box.
Taking this back to the game - no one has mentioned the incompetent refereeing which contributed to the result - so poor Unless we had most players bang on form we were never going to beat a very strong committed Man City team (& the ref) -but like has been said we did'nt play badly - just not clinical when City were dodgy in the opening 10 mins or so - we did have chances - not discussing our disallowed goal - ref did a good one there .... A sizeable minority of our players not match fit - at this level that shows - I m not excusing this mind - so overall while absolutely deflated we did show a good few promising moves - unfortunately accompanied by schoolboy size errors !!! Borini full of running, effort and great attitude - not too clinical mind but the rest of the team wern't either Still feel hopeful for Saturday but DA must include Watmore - KTF and ETU
Nice to hear from people who were there. I watched a stream and thought our support was excellent under the circumstances. I won't be able to get to another game until the derby but wish I could give more support ........ we need it.
