Pre match drinks in the Colliery Tavern with my brother and ended up chatting to some Man City fans who were top drawer lads.. I then went to the Fanzone where Jimmy Monty and Kevin Ball carried out a question and answer session. Bally in particular was going on about some of our youngens deserving more of a chance. I had a chat with Kevin Ball afterwards where I told him how much I appreciated the efforts and dedication he gave to our club. I then met up with some lads from this forum (great to meet Home and Away for the first time) which is always a pleasure. One of the biggest pluses of the night for me was the way the vast majority of fans at the game stayed and backed the team throughout the second half despite being 4-0 down at the break..
My take on your take is that your right to think it strange to hate the term my take. Or am I my-take-n, sorry, mistaken?
Totally agree with this marra... The fans in the South Stand never stopped singing for 90 minutes and I happily applauded the lads off the pitch as (defending apart) I thought they played well and it is obvious (to me) that attacking options have improved significantly. The downside for me is the odd idiot in the crowd who are totally clueless about football. I know it's a game of opinions but the lads behind Funky & me were shouting abuse at Lens, Yedlin, AJ & Borini.. Telling them to "**** off" etc etc. What do these people want? McClean back on the left with Stokes upfront ??? Also, the drive home was spoilt by listening to 5-Live ... They said Sunderland were humiliated, never turned up, rolled over etc etc ?!? The worst part was when a Man City fan rang in and said that the Sunderland fans were an embarrassment and that the stadium was fully emptying after half an hour and that we never gave the team any encouragement?? Mmmmm really ?!? I thought the lads were okay.... The fans were superb Just 'my take' like !
Funny that a City fan says tat isn;t it - they forget where they were 7 or 8 years ago before Mansour took over! They were a club much like us - languishing and going nowhere! The lad that said it is probably a Johnny come lately as most of the long serving City fans are pretty cool. I saw no-one leave at 0-4 - saw the same crowd for most of the game - not massive but better than the last round! Bloke is obviously a prick. It wasn;t Adrian Durham ringing his employers was it?
