"Forget it," he said. "We are looking at some things but I am not so sure Sneijder will be easy to get."

"I could pick three or four players to come in but they wouldn't be good enough for us so there is no point," added Ferguson.

i'm getting rather inpatient. if he doesn't believe anderson is good enough to replace scholes, then there's no way we should have been waiting for scholes to actually leave the club before bringing someone in. a centre back wasn't top of the list of priorities, neither was ashley young. a centre midfielder has been, and has been for years.

If he thinks the team is strong enough then I trust him. He did say there will be 3 signings this summer and he is true to his word.

Fergies is still hesitant about strengthening the middle of the park? If he doesn't we will be embarrassed by the likes of Barcelona again.

Personally I think he's saying forget it as in "Stop asking about it, we're trying to work the details out and you lot asking questions about it every five minutes doesn't help".

To be fair he's been trying to bring a CM in for a couple of years now, since it became apparent that Ando wasn't developing into a Scholes replacement. But CM is a difficult one to get right as proven by the flops (Veron, Kleberson and Djemba2) and the ones that haven't quite been as good as we hoped (Carrick, Ando, Smith, Cruyff). I'd rather SAF take his time and get the right man, rather than rush it and get someone who won't be notably better than what we already have.

You can't replace Scholes. You know why? Because there isn't another player in the world like him. Ergo you have to adapt the rest of the team to a new fulcrum and let's be honest, Scholes has hardly played much this year and our best performances have been when we have two central midfielders that have complimented each other very well- I'm thinking of Carrick and Anderson or Carrick and Giggs to name but two.

I don't think we should get hung up on the next Scholes or Giggs. These players should be looking to form their own identities to become legends outright. I was barely a toddler when Giggs first came onto the scene so surely plenty called him the next George Best. But Giggs formed his own legacy and he is a legend is his own right. It's unfair to label Anderson for example the next Scholes because he isn't blessed with the same qualities that Scholes has but he has his own set of talent that should fill the void rather than the boots of Scholes.

    maybe. here's hoping <ok>

does anyone know whats happened to defour? it seemed only a matter of time before he was a united player..maybe he hasn't recaptured the form since he had his nasty injury. what i wouldn't give for a 27 year old veron now. our midfield is technically more deficient now than it was 6 or 7 years ago and it's rather depressing. sahin would have been worth taking a serious look at..very much in the xavi/iniesta mould..but he's been snapped up by madrid for peanuts compared to the current market value.

Defour seems to be going to Lokomotiv Moscow, which implies he's probably not at Utd standard after the injury, or not much better than what we already have.

Not convinced Veron would be any better now that he was when he joined. He was just the wrong type of player and unable to adapt his game.

Madrid met Sahin's release clause, same as they did with Ozil. Naff all anyone else can do when that happens, just like us taking Jones away from 'pool without having to bid a huge amount. Real and Barca will always have the advantage over us in those kinds of deals, as they can offer larger wages thanks to lower taxes and the ridiculous media deals in Spain.

    I think it will happen.

Sneijder dad has just said United have offered a 5 year deal which they are thinking over.

Inter must have given us permission to talk to him them

Sorry mate, but that's gotta be one of the least reliable sources I can think of. Haven't you got a crystal ball we could look into instead?

    TRANSLATED

The reassurance of Marco Branca, compliments of Mr. Gasperini and the denials of the facade of Scotland Alex Ferguson had momentarily reassured the Inter fans on and off the dreams of glory of the curve of the United. But the fate of Wesley Sneijder is still uncertain.

The father of the talented Dutch, spoke to Sky Sports, has confirmed the strong interest from Manchester United for Inter director: "Manchester United have offered my son a million dollar contract for five years. Wesley loves Milan and Inter, but the proposal of the leaders of the Red Devils is really interesting from an economic standpoint. In the coming days will decide the future together. "

Words that freeze the back of the president Moratti that despite the bridges of gold promised by Ferguson has no intention to deprive himself of his ace.

In addition to Sneijder, Inter could lose in the next few days Esteban Cambiasso. The Argentine midfielder was close to Galatasaray. The negotiations took off last week, as confirmed by the statements made by the turkish club vice president: "We are now to close the deal details for Cambiasso, specifically asked by our coach Terim. Cuchu to have offered a million dollar contract for 5 years. We hope in God. "

This transfer Saga will keep going until we end up not buying him anyway. Anderson will get his chance and he is not here to replace Scholes, he is here to prove that he is good enough to be a top player at Man Utd week in week out.
