He'll fit in nicely with our overworked Physios then.
I wish we'd busted a gut to get Alonso in permanent. I don't think we've had a decent permanent Left back since Micky Gray.

Not a full back in the world could've done much better than PVA (other than the fourth goal) last night - when he has 2 or 3 players running at him and he has zero support and is left completely isolated why is he so rubbish? As I said in my previous post - 2 or 3 v 1 almost every time on our left. How is he supposed to defend against that - particularly when it's player with the pace of Navas and the ability of De Bruyne?

I don't know the answer as I like how Lens impacts the attacking third! Dick has to earn his moolah

PVA is a better player than he looks but he needs some help from in front of him - it's impossible to do the role he's been asked to do without support from the midfield!

Add 2 weeks of getting match fit, so we're looking early to mid November.

Micky Gray (who wasn't a particularly good defender) and Magic on the left was better . . . . . with Chris Makin and Nicky Summerbee on the right :emoticon-0100-smile

    Happy days . . . . very happy days :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Can't help but think the decision not to keep Revelliere was incredibly short sighted.

People pointed to his age, all I saw was an incredibly steady and massively experienced full back who did a very, very good job for us.

Given that Jones is made of plastic and Matthews was new to the league, another year, even in the same was as Brown has been given to supposedly help younger players would have been savvy.

Make no mistake, he was, even at 35, better than any full back we currently have at the club.

I wouldn't play it next match anyway. Big shift like that would take a month of prep in training.

Catts has shown he's poor playing anything other than his DM role sitting in front of the defence. For me Catts only works in 451 where he can do that. Not against it entirely. But it does limit our attacking capabilities with one isolated. Our 433 has been pushed back into a 451 a few times since Dick joined and the main forward ends up isolated and that worries me. My thought behind the formation experiment was to give the fullbacks protection and keep us potent in attack. Catt's just has no place in that set up for me, he'd be lost that far forward.

Letter of the week mate, I can not understand the decision to llet him go,and could,nt at the time, if it is because he does not fit into a system, then the system is too rigid and will never succeeed. Its similar to not going with three at the back in our present dilema, and using Wes, it is so obvious that you have to adapt to the players at your disposal, I hope Dick sees this, I am not confident that he will tbh.

PVA got a lot of support from CW last year and so far none of our wide players have tracked back to the same effect, hence we need to change personel ( no options available imo ) or change the formation ie three at the back and JOS, JR, and Kaboul would do for me, but it will be a baptism of fire if tried against a resurgent Man U. we live in hope, football is a funny old game..
