They made lots of changes too. Can't blame Monk for crap finishing. We should have been 4 up after 15 minutes.
Tika tacka, tika tacka ticka tacka....loads of possession, loads of possession loads of possession and the lower league club had the game in control and knew how to win......Now that's the way to win......Britton and his boys were owned and it's all monks fault for not showing hull any respect and fielding our strongest side from the off.....good luck to hull in the next round you deserved it.....
I'll say it again...Hull made changes as well, and Bruce said he would well before the game. We had a super-strong bench but an injury bolloxed part of that up. Can't blame Monk for Siggy and co not being able to hit a barn door. Hull were not in control at all and they only deserved it to the extent that they put their gifted single chance away and we couldn't score with 18 shots. We dominated the game but couldn't put the ball away. Can't blame anyone except the players.
Exactly aswan, Monk clearly was not bothered by this Cup game, regardless of his sound bites prior to the game. Let's hope We get a result on Saturday, definitely need some goals, Siggy needs to hit some form.........
Monk is bothered you can believe it but he showed he has a lot of learning to do yet, He sent on the wrong team believing it was enough and within 20 minutes you could tell we would struggle to score.....Monk lost us that game and nobody else, I will praise him when he gets things right but i will slam him when he gets things wrong, he should have put gomis and shelve on after twenty minutes when we may have had a chance.....
Sorry, but we were not in control after the break, did we actually get a shot on target second half, don't think so. What on earth do they do in training? Dreadful showing against Hull reserves. So much for our strongest squad ever. What about our poor fans who travelled all that way,a hell of a journey to watch that crap.
We were never in control from the time britton was named as captain and our big hitters were not playing.....
Make whatever excuses that make you feel comfortable, but we lost to a championship side with a team that had Plenty of Premier League experience. Ki, Shelvey, Routledge, Rangel, Sigurdsson, Gomis...... "Monk didn't care about this" blah blah blah, we all know that's bullshit. We had to play 90 mins, so we may as well win it because a win is better for confidence than a defeat to a championship side. We played better than we did against Watford and that game "mattered"
Dai just because Monk states in the media that he is serious about the cup, doesn't mean a flying fig mate.........
Well if he really cared as you think, then he would have fielded our strongest team, but he didn't now did he? So clearly this Cup game was not ranked high enough against our Premier league commitments.
If monk was not bothered with trying to win a cup then as far as im concerned he can go elsewhere. we don't need a manager who don't care about winning anything....I believe fully that he did want to win the cup but he got it all wrong and he must take the flack like he does the praise in the social media..
Look Dai his starting XI said it all, this was Hull a Premiership/Championship side, not bloody York in Div2.
And that shows how nieve he is thinking we would have an easy ride against hull......he wanted to win alright but he got everything from the choice of captain to team selection wrong....
Not sure, sounded like we were in control with our so called weaker team in the first half. Many players missed chances including regular first time members, gylfi and routledge. Lack of goals from anyone other than Ayew and gomis is a worry and these have slowed up over last few games. Gomis getting offside far too often. Just watched highlights and we really did miss some sitters! Not looking good for our new striker coach. I was hoping we would have a good run in the cup...disappointing
We had less chances when Gomis and and neither should it be , we're still not that strong enough as a Club to ignore the fact that the PL is more important than risking our status because of a cup game . He put out a side which he felt would be strong enough to win the game and it nearly worked , we had less chances when the substitutes came on so that vindicated his decision .We're not in a slump but Southhampton Saturday is more important the Hull on a Tuesday night .
When ever Britton is captain we revert to the tika tacka but its all sideways and back passing with very little forward passing and thats why we needed shelvey on from the start to get plenty of forward passing. looking good at keeping the ball dont do anything today like it did a few years back. Britton was directing play and he only knows one way to play and its not going forward.....
