I got Hull city to the champions league within four seasons, lost 6-2 to barcelona at the nou camp, i took that down to complete inexperience at that level, however in the reverse fixture at the kc, i beat barca 1-0 with mamadou sakho scoring in the 89th minute, i also signed ramires from benfica and van der vaart both before they joined the Pl in reality, signed Altidore on a perm after the loan period, he was great on fm 2010

I've just started a new season using the update posted earlier in the thread and am about to kick off my first game of the season against Forest.

    I'm playing a 4-3-3 of

    Hahnneman

    Dawson
    Upson
    Khizanazvili
    Spector

    Bullard
    Reo Coker
    Hargreaves

    Mphela
    Gudjohnson
    Simpson

Bench of: Loach, Bennet, Barnes, Stewart, Hobbs, Koren and Mclean.

I'm quietly confident of promotion with that midfield <ok>

    not a bad team Matt,

for anyone wanting a **** hot CB, there's a young lad playing for National? a team in Uruguay. Sebastian Coates. 6ft 5. 19 years old. absolute monster. a few years down the line he's one of the best CB's in the game. very hard to keep hold of him though, but you'll get a good £20m+ for him.

When I've had Gudjohnson, he's been **** and I was frustrated because I had given him a decent salary.

Are there are big differences to the 2012 game?

I've got a save going where I gave myself £165m. Still in the Champ and have the following team

    Mannone
    Montoya
    Boyaka
    Richards
    Renan
    McCarthey
    Capoue
    Ljajic
    Sako
    Winjaldum
    Campbell

Slightly fed up with FM so thought I'd try something different

Not really features wise, more polished, needs far more doing but obviously things are long way from being finished!

Just going into my second real game of FM this year, had a great one with Carlisle winning everything, and i got something back as standard with the stadium being named after me.

Are you saying in FM2011 you can end up with the stadium being named after you? That's my next target sorted out, at the moment I'm trying to work out when to buy the stadium without it giving me a 15 year mortgage at 90k/month (2 months before I cleared all the bank debts and they did that to me).

If your club builds a new stadium they will name it after you. Only if you've been successful obviously.

That's class. I assume if I'm in a position to ask the Allams to build us a new ground I'll have been successful.

He'd better be good or I'm disowning him. ;)

I've got Man Utd last game to decide who wins the league (i'm 2 points in front) then 3 days later Man U again in the Champions League final, and 3 days after that Everton in the FA cup final.. problem is I have a few injured key players and a few key players suspended for Champions League final.. I want to win them all and I've already won the league cup :D

    My full strength side is

    Zachary Boucher
Sime? Vrsaljko - Vincent Kompany - Nedum Onuoha - 21 year old 5 star regen player (currently at 4 star ability)
Nordin Amrabat - Lassana Diarra - Tom Cairney - Magaye Gueye
    Nathan Delfouneso - Steven Fletcher

But I like to operate with strength in depth and can field a 2nd string of

    Jan Mucha
Scott Sutter - Kamil Zayatte - Tomas Kalas - Joe Mattock
Ahmed Elmohammady - Sandro - Steven Davis - Alejandro Gomez
Erik Jendrisek - 19 year old 5 star regen player (currently at 3 1/2 star ability)

My 2nd string team is pretty much just as good as my first 11!

And then still have players to spare such as: Andy King, Jack Cork, Matt James, an 18 year old 5 star regen winger/cm (currently at 3 and 1/2 star ability), a 21 year old 5 star regen keeper (stuck at 3 and 1/2 stars for 2 seasons), and a whole bunch of 4 star potential youth players which I can't be arsed to list coz theres too many!!

I have a giant squad mainly because of the amount of games I play a season (been in europe the last 4 seasons and always hitting at least quaters in both domestic cups) and because of how I change formation so often. Tend to play 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 and 4-1-2-1-2 the most often, I switch between these alot (specially mid game), but I sometimes come up with wacky formations aswell.

Just started a new season with the latest update, managed to do some of the things suggested on here, like getting Tom Cairney to sign a new contract to end speculation of him going to Arsenal, and then selling Garcia and McShane for more then a million each, and Cullen for £900k. So with the bit of spare cash, I managed to sign Borini on season long loan. However, now I am struggling for some deffenders, anyone suggest a cheap good left wing back to replace dawson?

Also, if you check out Belaid's stats he is incredible.

He is incredible but if you look at his physical stats they are a let down. LB wise Bertrand or Van Anholt?
