My gut feeling is it will take a while for them to pull the trigger.

Unless we keep losing then it will be drawn out and embarrassing - like with Roy.

If a new manager came in within the next few games I would say do your best and get 6th.

Hopefully FSG have already decided to kick Brodge to the curb and are waiting to have next manager lined up rather than have caretaker.

I'm not convinced we'd get 6th with Brod.

6th would be the aim for Klopp before he was given a chance to buy some of his own players and have higher expectations for next year.

I think top 4 is achievable still. Pointswise a competent manager could get us there still.

I wouldn't sack someone for not finishing top 4.

There is more to a managers performance that just end position. Of United, Arsenal and Chelsea all have a stinker of a season we would have no excuse for finishing outside top 4.

If they all play to potential then we don't have the quality in the squad to reach top 4.

A new manager taking over tomorrow I would have expectations of 5th this season. I wouldn't sack for 6th or 7th... Depending on: did we just screw up or were there uncommon injuries, etc.

Each season is different. The year Rafa came 2nd it was a tough competitive year. When Rodgers had his brilliant 2nd place season we had a year when all the other top teams had an off year at the same time we had a good one.

Rafa's 2nd was more of an achievement than Rodgers. Imo.

    I wish... :(

We may need to wait for the defeat to Carlisle first.

I think the Villa game is more important for him. If we don't beat them at home then I think serious questions will be asked of him. It's too early to sack a manager usually at this stage of the season but the fact he was apparently close to losing his job December last year and we are on a poor run of form since the Man Utd game in march, it could happen.

Carlisle on the other hand, I think the owners believe that it is a second rate competition and they obviously didn't value Kenny winning it so I doubt they'll be too bothered about getting knocked out.

Usually I would put down our current start as just a "bad start".

It's that this is on the heels of over a year of being bad that makes his bed start significant.

On the bright side every single season with Rodgers we have looked worse at the start than once the season was well in motion.

When we finished 2nd we had some early good results but even then the performances were terrible. I think Rodgers will get better as the season progresses if he isn't sacked but it will be better as in "6th place tops"... Not any higher.

If we get Ancelotti I hope we finish the season above Chelsea. (even more than normal) since he and Jose don't like each other.

Italian press worse than British press so doesn't mean much really.

Also. Just because FSG contacts him doesn't mean he has to take the job.

The committee would remain - maybe the individuals will be replaced but the structure of the committee would remain.

Still think Klopp is the best choice but Ancelotti is world class as well. Would have either in a heartbeat.

Ancelotti would see it is just another job, Klopp would buy into the idea and the challenge.
