Why does he keep coming out with this stupid ****?
He could've signed Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Bale, Suarez, Toure and about a million other players.
Is he just taking the piss out of Arsenal fans now?

"I could've signed Ibrahimovic, but I got Guy Demel instead"? Really? Why the **** are you telling anyone about that enormous cock-up?

His actual comments list both oxocube and Sanchez before Campbell. He was basically saying we are well stocked in the wide position he would play martial in if we were to sign him so decided not to go for him. And I'd imagine a journalist asked him a question about it as opposed to wenger randomly revealing it. Bit of a non story sensationalised tbh.

Would he turn down Ronaldo, because he has player in his position?

Isn't his primary position as a striker?

  6. Mourhino is a master wumster, always remember that. He never says something without knowing what effect he is trying to achieve. By saying what he said about the Arsenal squad, he was being passive aggressive, and basically trying to unsettle all of them, all at once. It was an absolute master-stroke! He makes Wenger look like a dinosaur - and not even an exciting dinosaur, something like the forerunner of a modern-day chicken.

  8. Pressure is on Arsenal to beat Leicester, today. If they can only muster a draw, they'll sit behind us in the table, and I cannot imagine that that will sit well with the likes of Arsenal87.

I think he was being respectful to united in making them seem almost as good as us tbh.

If we're going to get pedantic to the point of commenting on it, given there is only one Arsenal, wouldn't that make 'was' ok?

It's become the common thing in football to refer to a club as we/they (we won today, they look **** etc.) but if we're going to stretch the pedantry, and I do enjoy a bit of grammar pedantry, all football clubs should be referred to as 'it' I'd have thought.

There is only one Arsenal but it has had many teams with different players over the years !

the were and was comment was about the use of past tense, and as hiag was talking about a previous time it was in the past so the correct usage would be were, which has nothing to do with how many clubs called Arsenal there are !

    pedantic moi
