The thing is either we ALLOW more contact in the game or players like Costa should be punished. I'm all for a more robust sport as long as the refereeing is fair.
No. Either your allowed to elbow, stamp, pull, push etc.. or you are not. The rules need to be more clear about exactly what is allowed and the players need to be punished when they break them.
Of course, but that vile creature Costa will probably go even more extreme, like throwing his feces around. Retrospective punishment will be better, to make dirty players like Costa think twice before embarking on dirtay behaviour.
Zouma calls Costa a "cheat." http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/sep/21/diego-costa-cheats-chelsea-kurt-zouma I don't think he will last long with that integrity. It's not something Chelsea are familiar with.
I don't understand whether your comment was (a) a tongue in cheek comment, or (b) that you don't know what Wilshere did after the fa cup, or (c) you don't think what Wilshere did is same sort of thing.
Already being hushed up by Chelsea as a 'misinterpretation' as english not his first language. Ha right. Not entirely sure why though. Chelsea know he cheats. Their players know he cheats. Everyone else's players know he cheats. The fans know he cheats. What are they trying to achieve by brushing it off when everyone already knows what he's about anyway?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34319410 Costa has been charged with violent conduct for hitting koscielny in the face and we are going to appeal the Gabriel 3 game ban.
There is no way Gabriel's red card will be rescinded as Dean saw the incident and took what he thought was to be appropriate action
Didn't he only give the card after one of the other officials spoke to him? Though I agree it's unlikely to be over turned. Pleased to see Costa getting charged though!
I still don't get it. Have you not actually seen what he did on top of a bus then? Or are you going to find some pedantic way of saying what he did doesn't constitute fitting the sentence "Wilshere did something on top of a bus"?
Glad that costa has been charged (though damage has been done and a president has been set imo). But i thought you couldnt appeal a sending off if it was 2 yellow cards? Also as ref saw it, isnt it more likely to get us an additional charge rather than being dropped?
He got a straight red not two yellows and I thought the ref only gave it after confirming with his assistant so possibly didn't directly see what happened, no idea.
I was under the presumption Gabriel got a yellow for the squaring up to Costa, followed by a STRAIGHT red for the kick. Although there was no way Mike Dean was in a position to see it, it was only when Costa alerted him to it and I presume the linesman or fourth official spotted it. ???
Ahh didnt realise - i thought he got a second yellow for a 'kick' (that i didnt see on the replays i saw)
Christ - only just listened to Mourinho's interview here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34319410 "this is how football has to be played" when talking about Costa. No Mourinho... What you mean is, "this is the only way I know to play football".
