And whats the drop off rate? How many people are going to be playing these rules by the end of the season? And are we going to end up with a winner with minus points by the end.

New rules are terrible, face it IBWT they were not a good idea.

There are 4 times as many people with plus points than minus... And at lest 2 of those in minus are because they've not predicted for a couple of weeks so automatically scored -1 for each score they missed.

face it, you lot just need to man up and crack on

 

Getting the score spot on is just pure luck - rewarding luck .

The other side of that is penalising for not being lucky, it's a isn't it ..

 

I picked out Lallana to score (yes,thats right....Lallana) the other night and ended up with minus 2 points

Any moron can hit the lottery of a handful of correct scores a few times a season. Just predict 2-1 to the better team every week and sit back.

Maybe correctly predicting a 4-0 should earn you more points than a 1-0?

 

Maybe you can run it yourselves next year

Funny you say that. I was going to use bookies as a way of going it.

Everyone starts with £50 and you can put however much on each game and you get the odds back that bookies are offering. Person with most money at the end of the season wins. So could put lots on a likely score/result or take more of a risk etc.

 

Bit **** that someone not giving a prediction (aka not giving a ****) should get the same points as someone participating and getting it wrong

Yeah might have been a few emergency loans provided from wonga with high interest rates when you earn enough to pay back

Did think might be a fun thing to do if people took it relatively seriously and didn't whack it all down week one. Maybe say you can only restrict it to max £5 bets so people at least last 10 weeks lol

 

That would be better. £10 to spend every week but only the winnings go into each poster 'bank' column. Someone could gamble on long odds every week hitting two or three results a season whereas other could play it cool and consistently pick up £s most weeks.

 

I actually really like that idea.

Perfect for people like me. I always miss half the games so didn't enter this year. No point in points system... quickly get left behind.

With betting money might be better. Miss a few game, just gamble a little more later on to try and catch up.

 

As Astro just suggested, so much each week. Only record the winnings and not the stake to stop people just keeping the tenner (or whatever it is)

Or everyone gets £2 added automatically each game so if you lose it all, you get a minimal amount to start the next week.

 

The betting thing sounds awesome in principle, whos going to go out to find all the odds of the different permutations?

 

Maybe the game runner should just go onto a betting website and copy a list of odds for result, goalscorer etc. (about 10 different options)

Only that list can then be used for the bets
