Roy Keane shat himself in front of Vieira? I've heard it all now.

Costa is snide. What better word to describe a player who looks to provoke an opponent behind a referee's back and theatrically looks to get the referee's attention when there's retaliation? There are countless examples from his time in Spain on Youtube.

Costa is just an avatar for the game mate. Glenn Murray is just as bad in his way, and dozens of others. If enough people find it entertaining all is well and good, the business (and it's obviously show business, not sport as I was brought up to understand it) will thrive. Just not to my taste. I don't have any moral issue with Costa and his ilk, I just find it aesthetically unpleasant. I don't want to see a pantomime, but the reference is very accurate.

I would like to see him in a genuine fight with someone like Kenny Burns. Or Gavin Maguire. No need for it to happen on a football pitch though, and we can ditch all the theatrics - some proper punching rather than these girly slaps and kicks.

Costa is Spainish and looks like a villain from a spaghetti western

We had by far a worse player in Barton at our club if you feel the need to be disgusted

Spanish Ugly and oh and Chelsea

The ingredients of shallow fickle opinions

Costa is a great player and seems to have wound everyone up

    That's part of his game
Still given a load of talking points and an excuse to moan

Barton did the same to me until you realise it's best just to laugh at him

Costa without doubt isn't doing as well as he thinks he can at Chelsea so has mixed it up a bit and no club in the UK would refuse him

Better defenders would laugh at him

If he loses this stigma then would he become a better player ?

Look at Rooney for your answers

Look at Wimbledon back in the day

Costa I bet won't change his game to make the UK fans like him better
    Why should he?

All good strikers are mean mother ****ers in this age of football theatre

The difference is Costa can play a bit
    What was Bartons excuse?

In a way it's a shame that defenders like Tommy Smith and Norman Hunter aren't around anymore......now that would be interesting to see.......

BTW I'm certainly not condoning the way those 2 and others played, they were dirty bastards, but when they weren't hacking players like Best and Marsh to pieces they were actually decent footballers.......

Your posts always have the whiff of arrogance and holier than thou attitude and your constant bleating about how sick and fickle we all are is really tiresome. But elements of that post are genuinely offensive. So we are so small minded that we show outrage at Costa because he's ugly and Spanish??!! Well f**k you, how dare you presume such crap. Costa is a cheat and a disgrace, no debate, you are wrong.

Didn't realise that far from being Spanish, he is actually Brazilian and represented Brazil twice in friendlies before declaring for Spain in 2013 on account of his Spanish residency.

I don't presume anything it's there in black and white a lot of the time on this forum
Your claims that Costa is a disgrace is in your stupid eyes and just your opinion … disgrace to what? .. Wake up we had Joey Barton at our club … we have no rights to call anyone a disgrace
My point is this there are clear signs that the mentality of the mainstream is to look for a cheat and then moan the **** out of it
I prefer to be open minded and have a broader look at things … try and understand why people on here go mainstream and jump on the band wagon … posting something to death … those comments turn into real insults about every time collectively on here often in the form of jokes etc. I hate that and will post every time i read it from posters on here because there are a lot of small minds on here. I couldn't give a **** what people think about me on here … if you are offended then good because I intended to bring to light the undertones of a witch hunt on here. I passionately

Costa is a brilliant footballer , no debate. I am right. He also plays for a team we dislike and narrow minded people on here are feeling sorry for Gabriel the Arsenal boy
**** me get a life mate you must be totally brainwashed by it all.
Football stories carry on until next week and the hatred for Costa will grow … he is after all a cheating foreigner to many on here …in fact more than many

I am attacking a mentality that is born and current in the UK … find someone to wreck then moan about it … trying to owe it for 5 minutes when in fact we don't care a ****. and continue to look for the next person to slag because we can we are prisoners of modern day comms … My voice is just one voice so forget about it and move on. If anyone can't see what i rant on about then try this … lets guess who's next in QPR to slag off? Our football team … the team we should be supporting

We have no rights to do this again we had a thug on 80K a week at our club and some fools even liked that

Barton's whole game was about cheating and winding people up … he had very little else so when I read the crap about Costa it makes me feel mad as hell

I also state that a foreign player in this country will receive to more anger against him if he is a little naughty. They have yet again whipped it up in the media and many of here lap it down and I call those people infected and small minded

Good point my mistake and i wager that most think he is Spainish … because it would never enter their minds that he is Brazilian they are programmed to believe that Brazil are the masters of world football whereas we all know the Germans are the best tournament football team

Lets cut all the bullsh*t. The reason there's a thread about him on here is because he plays for Chelsea!

No, I don't think so. It has probably increased the feeling, and nothing wrong with that, but it's not the reason.
His on field behaviour was akin to a spoilt child with anger issues. I'm all for a tough, physical game, but without the victim-like drama.
If he gives it, he should take it without the fuss.

What are you on about? People would think he is Spanish because he plays for Spain and came to Chelsea from Spain

I like to think of myself as relatively intelligent. Good education, lived abroad, speak another language, take an interest in current affairs etc. and I think Costa is a ****. You don't have to be "following the crowd" or small-minded to dislike a dislikeable person.

As for Barton, he got far more than his fair share of stick. Some liked him, most didn't.

Costa being a brilliant footballer is a matter of opinion. He had a great start for Chelsea but has looked bang average since.

I assume as you say that you lived abroad you learnt the language whilst in Spain. I've wanted to learn Spanish for many years, I just don't have the discipline to sit at my PC and do it.

A bit of both. I did it at school and wasn't particularly good but carried it on as part of my degree and did a year there as part of that. I think it's virtually impossible to learn it well without living there and conversing with locals daily.

Without a doubt though it's the best language to learn and much easier to get fairly good at than others.
