They all rate Can and Sakho? One is like a New York traffic cop, strolling around the pitch waving his arms and pointing but not actually doing much, the other is a bull of a man who goes to pieces if an opponent gets near him when he has the ball at his feet. Both can make a decent pass given enough time and both run into yards of free space only to pass the ball to the nearest man once they get close to an opposition player, even if that man has two people marking him.
I still believe that the team is much better than what we have seen. The manager is failing and has failed to get the best out of them. Time to go.
I agree, yes any new manager will want his own players in but there's no need to go nuts it's a good squad and a good manager will get more from them.
Rodgers has a decision to make. After the much improved attacking performance once Ings came on, will he start him over Benteke ...?
The formation made sense yesterday the players used in that formation including sub's also made sense this is a start but we should be beating Norwich at Anfield it's another failure from Rodgers. The players don't seem motivated there's no energy there, it is as if they expect the win to come other than fighting for it.
Not a chance but I don't really think he should. Benteke should start alongside Studge and Ings is a great option from the bench if either isn't performing or as a tactical option.
Also, would it look bad if we were to take the captaincy off of Milner and give it to Sakho? Milner is the most uninspiring and quietest captain ever. Such a poor decision based on very little.
I thought yesterday was Benteke's worst performance and that was despite finally having a partner. Could be down to his injury though?
He's not untouchable and Ings/Original should be used if Benteke is having a poor game. I don't really like the formation at the moment it's Brendan's panic formation. Is a shut up shop and hope we grab one way of playing.
It's fine away from home at times but not at Anfield. The problem we have is that by the time he finally gets the boot it'll be too late to salvage anything from the season.
Positives from yesterday Firmino is finally looking like he is getting to grips with the pace of the league. He didn't lose the ball and actually showed some excellent turns. Ings is actually looking a better fit for us that Benteke and he should be rewarded with a start for the next game Sturridge is just a classy player and with full fitness he may just save Rodgers from the sack Sakho and Moreno played really well. Clyne is a very good player. Lucas played very well too. Negatives We didn't win and against Norwich Coutinho needs to work on his mentality. The moment he missed that chance I immediately told my mate watch him go and shoot at sight to make up for that miss. He also needs to work on his finishing inside the box. Milner is really earning 150K a week? You can see why City didn't trust him in the middle.
******ed? Well there are no more ******ed than those who choose to bury their heads in the sand Who are basing their views on 60minutes of football ? Kenny had Suarez in the first year whereas Rodgers had him when he had fully settled in like many top foreign players who require a year to acclimatise. Suarez's presence in the squad allows Rodgers to play a certain system which suits the team and lifts everyone else. His absence for a few games does not matter. Absolutely ridiculous assertion about a 4-0 win if Sturridge was fit as we'll never know for sure. But what we know is that Norwich for the last few years had been blasted by us yet this year they can't even be beaten,..at home. Rodgers apologists may wish to defend him but after 3 seasons with us he has not improved our prospects for the title. We are as far from that goal as when he first arrived. And he spent £300m in the process
Coutinho does lack composure in the box - this is why I don't see him as a number 10. He's not that great in really tight spaces. Give him space and he will cause havoc. Firmino is better in the number 10 role and is more of a goal threat. Can't wait to see Sturridge, Firmino and Coutinho play together.
After all the money we spent, we're reliant on an injury prone striker. Says it all really. And it's funny because people are making out like Suarez was rubbish for us bar the 13/14 season. He was very good under Kenny and Rodgers's first season - he just wasn't clinical. What's funnier is how everyone says Rodgers made Suarez because of that season - look at his career and the guy was banging goals in at club and international level prior to Liverpool. Those two seasons for us where he wasn't clinical was actually the exception.
Rodgers should go for the diamond against Villa problem is Milner seems to have a must play clause in his contract therefore I expect to see 5 at the back yet again.
If Rodgers is sacked in the coming weeks, what will be his legacy? How will he be remembered amongst Liverpool fans? It's rather annoying that Liverpool fans in 2014 were so full of praise for Rodgers, elevating him to God-like status, and yet here we are in 2015 and now the majority have turned on him. I don't get it - this is just total revisionism of the widely-held perception of Rodgers' ability as a manager. If you can switch so easily from viewing a manager as excellent to below par doesn't that say something about the modern fan? Liverpool finished 6th last year, which I would say is about where they merit when compared to the other teams. This season may not have started so well but only 6 games have been played. Liverpool fans ultimately need to definitively state whether Rodgers is a good manager or not - if he is a bad manager why was he regarded otherwise 18 months ago... and if he is a good manager going through a rough patch then why sack him?
